Getting use out of those X52 extras (pic hvy)

I am using the Pinky as a mod(or shift if you will) for commands. Works Great. By Profile is set as per the instructions and I know how two states for all buttons. Well, except Fire B.

In game, if I try to set any command to Pinkie + Fire B it registers ONLY the pinkie. Control panel shows Both when I try it. All my other games show both. It's just Elite that doesn't. I have reset all my bindings and started over. Tried different ports, with and without the Profiler running. No go.

Any ideas? Is this a Elite Bug?

You could assign a keybind to the "Pinkie + Fire B" say, to "B" and then map ED to use B for whatever function you wanted to use it for.

Aannnndddd YES IT DID WORK ehm does work i mean, nice thing is that when u only unprogram the stick u dont need to fill in the profile anymore, just unprogram the buttons save and choose x52 in game settings and it works! Even when u asssign other buttons, the game saves the settings of your stick how simple :-D

only thing not working good are the slider and the 2 rotationals on the throttle, so if any1 knows?!

Those are programmable from the Options page in-game. I've just not found anything that's a good fit for those.

Afaik, everything went to hell quality wise after Saitek was sold to Mad Catz... That being said, my Pro version still works fine but I've only used it for a couple of weeks, keeping my fingers crossed. Too bad that other two choices would be X55 Rhino (heard even worse things about that) and Warthog which is just expensive for a hotas. Atleast for my usage.

I've been using mine heavily for months - no issue.

Over 600 hours on mine, running like a champ. YMMV

You can't I'm afraid, but you can set one of them to the mouse wheel on the back of the throttle.

My saitek x52 arrived in the mail today, and I had to head out as soon as i pulled it out of the box. Ive been reading all over the frontier forums all arvo on my phone while the kids were playing at the playground, all ready to get into the setups you have here for Elite Dangerous.

What a great wealth of information, and a credit to your forums.

Just so people know (not sure if it has been said)

But if you just leave the driver control panel open, ED picks up on all buttons/ sliders/ switches by default.
It even stops the flicker of the lights and makes the pinky work properly.

This thread has helped me out no end, I'd uninstalled the saitek drivers because it had disabled buttons I wanted to use but found my LED's too bright in a darkened room.

A tip that saved me a lot of trouble (sorry if it's already in here) - the saitek sw is not compatible with the teamspeak sw's default setting for getting input.

The only workaround to get both to play nice with each other is to set the hotkey mode in Teamspeak to mouse and keyboard only:

I plan to try this today when i get home, but was wondering if you have a layout graphic that i can put on my second screen. That is one of the main reasons i am going away from the default layout. Either button pressing blindly or going to menu to see what is what can be frustrating

OK - wish I hadn't made this post now as I have had hell loads of issues recently.
The B button only responds sometimes and I have an intermittent fault on the thruster buttons that regularly fail to respond when I am at max or min thrust.
Have mailed Saitek - we'll see what happens.

Warthog is no good as an alternative in my view because of the missing Z axis
