ED doesn't 'need' to take on anything as long as it remains popular and self sustaining, not at all.
The issue comes when a glut of new players leave because all the features they are accustomed to are missing. Maybe ED will get some, none, all of those things, who knows. My point is that it would be a shame to see it suffer if it didn't have those things.
My suspicion (guesswork) is that in time most will come as they make common sense to be there, there have been rumblings already about social tools and I find it really hard to believe that David Braben has reached the point already where he thinks enough stuff is in, that troubles me to agree with. Just being honest.
He created a forward thinking technical marvel of a game a long time ago and I would think he did that by using creative thinking and harnessing the joy of gaming, I doubt those qualities have evaporated, or maybe I am just dreaming, who really knows apart from him, eh?

Oh yeah I get that, I was just hoing for an article link or something as I like reading about things like that![]()
No because i like to fly my ship the way ed flies it
And you already have it, so be happy!Nope; I want this David Braben's game!
i just logged in eve to create a sexy woman engineer and my log in screen said there were 47000 pilots all connected.
there are over 500k subscribers...
How did you manage them all, boxing software?Hey bud you know this isn't quite right. When I played EvE, I had like 15 different accounts. When I would be mining, I would run 8 Clients. I put the real life people behind the account at much less. My estimate about 40 - 50 thousand total persons.
I have no way to prove this, it's just a gut feel. But you really have no way to say I'm wrong either. Let's be real here.
Any serious player in Eve has a least one additional account and its almost mandatory if you have a capital ship and need your own cyno pilot (or at least was when I played). So a large portion of accounts and concurrency will be players using more than one account/toon. Nothing wrong with that per say, but it does inflate the numbers artificially (I had 3 accts personally).

Let us make our own game.
Corporations, are needed.
Player controlled statuons, are needed
etc.
Why? Why not just let those who enjoy it enjoy it and stay away from them? A big selling point of ED is how big it is, use that to your advantage, or indeed, play in solo. No need to stop others fun if it doesn't affect yoursNo thanks. If that happened I would stop playing ED.

It's all just pipe dreams anyway, so take comfort in that I guess.
What good are 400 bil systems if players can't impact it. 400 bil variations of colored balls? Don't care if you use other games as inspiration just don't let such great potential go to waste. And get some darn servers and drop the p2p crap, the 80's are over, u know that FD?
Trade big and prosper!![]()

Elite Wiki said:Can I walk around the ship, planets and space stations?
Yes, you will be able to walk around the ship interiors, operate ships with multiple players, board and steal other ships with Zero-G FPS combat, walk around and do FPS combat in space stations, do space walks to repair your ship, operate land and underwater vehicles and walk on entire 1:1 scale populated planets with NPCs in living cities, forests and be able to big-game hunt wildlife, like chasing big dinosaurs around as part of expansions.
Keep in mind that the game has been well planned and designed from the start with all these features in mind (it is not an afterthought).
You will be able to own small inflatable asteroid stations.
Is "Elite: Dangerous" an MMO?
Yes, Elite: Dangerous is an MMO, but with the important addition, that you can choose if you want to meet other players
It's all just pipe dreams anyway, so take comfort in that I guess.
Play in solo if you desire, it's great that this game offers that playstyle to people that want it. No need to play in open if player interaction isn't your thing
