Why do Fdev give any keys to creators in the first place? Because reviews are free advertising. However, any company that tries to manipulate the outcome of the reviews, except for the ones trying to make a good product, puts themselves in a very bad position. At least to some of us, and therefore it's a stupid PR move, that Fdev haven't thought through. This is basically a tempest in a teapot, but it has potential to blow up to galactic proportions, which I highly doubt would be beneficial for a game developer right before the launch of a major update, that is supposed to attract new players to the game.

You seem to be determined to believe that this is about his criticism of FD and their product. That is undone by there fact that no matter what, he will make a video of the Alpha.

They have a proven track record of not wanting people to use politically incorrect terminology. Imagine that Yamiks had used racist slurs, is it ok to overlook that when promoting your product? They believe he has been offensive to certain groups, or at the very least, not cared about causing those groups offence. They're not willing to endorse that. That is their right.

If the second reason they gave is true, then the first reason, not enough keys can be seen as a lie. They should have just said the second one first, then we would have had a 40 page plus thread about 'FD are just SJW's now'.

As has been noted several times in the thread, Yamiks is simply a freelancer with a shtick and ultimately FDev simply didn't care that much. I have a hunch that this entire debacle will have little effect to Odyssey sales figures.

You obviously didn't follow the "case" of Hardware Unboxed vs Nvidia. That caused quite a stir, and Nvidia didn't come out as the winners. Also, just because something "is and always has been" doesn't necessarily make it "right".

It was discussed earlier in the thread - and as I noted, IMO there's a massive difference between shutting out a critical voice because they criticize your products versus not endorsing a channel where the problem is toilet humour. Had Hardware Unboxed been some kind of edgy frat humour channel and got canned for their distasteful presentation, I seriously doubt there would been any sort of public outcry to get them reinstated as review piece recipients.
