TDL it isn't about a pre-release key and only 40 pages in.Initially i thought the whole hoo-ha was about a pre-release key, but it turned out he just wanted a free copy.
So just another typical influencer after something for nothing... typical

You being a Fortnite 500 CTO should know all about bad PR and how to handle it. Being stubborn might not be the best wayI think they got the wrong word with upset. He's not trying to upset anyone, not even FD with his videos.
But apart from that, i think the position in their email is quite understandable.
Yamiks ranting about it certainly won't do anything to change their opinion, only solidify it.
It wasn't FD that made it public as far as I am aware... Mr Iamaninfluencer did that himself. Why FD chooses to blatantly lie to theYamics in public is truly baffling. Moronic behaviour.
Is that it, all this over a free copyInitially i thought the whole hoo-ha was about a pre-release key, but it turned out he just wanted a free copy.

I wonder how many YT views 47€ is.Is that it, all this over a free copyOh dear.

This kinda goes for professional settings in general. They do not want to have any connection to the real life issues. Read the forum rules, this is not a new invented stance. They have been fairly consistent about it for some time.
I wonder how much self respect 47 Euro is worth.I wonder how many YT views 47€ is.
It varies wildly but on average about €2500 for a vid with one million clicks. He gets on average 15k clicks so very roughly speaking he needs to make two such vids to buy a key.I wonder how many YT views 47€ is.
No, clearly they didn't ask themselves this question.Clearly the latter, either way the know he will be p!ssing![]()
You seem to be determined to believe that this is about his criticism of FD and their product. That is undone by there fact that no matter what, he will make a video of the Alpha. Not understanding something is not a beginning of a strong argument.
Why do Fdev give any keys to creators in the first place? Because reviews are free advertising. However, any company that tries to manipulate the outcome of the reviews, except for the ones trying to make a good product, puts themselves in a very bad position. At least to some of us, and therefore it's a stupid PR move, that Fdev haven't thought through. This is basically a tempest in a teapot, but it has potential to blow up to galactic proportions, which I highly doubt would be beneficial for a game developer right before the launch of a major update, that is supposed to attract new players to the game.
If the second reason they gave is true, then the first reason, not enough keys can be seen as a lie. They should have just said the second one first, then we would have had a 40 page plus thread about 'FD are just SJW's now'.How did FD lie?
Not sure if that applies here. That's about keys with access to the game prior to public access, but the 29th already counts as a form of public release I'd guess. This is what I was reading: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/keys
You obviously didn't follow the "case" of Hardware Unboxed vs Nvidia. That caused quite a stir, and Nvidia didn't come out as the winners. Also, just because something "is and always has been" doesn't necessarily make it "right".I think this is sort of a disingenuous argument considering that the alpha keys can be bought with money and the practice of cooperating with just the guys you like or who are big enough is pretty standard in the business.
As has been noted several times in the thread, Yamiks is simply a freelancer with a shtick and ultimately FDev simply didn't care that much. I have a hunch that this entire debacle will have little effect to Odyssey sales figures.
Or the Nutella Riots in France. Then again, in my country people queue for hours to get a free 2€ bucket.

Though COVID-19 pandemia has ruined even this national pastime.
Well, he didn't, because in the middle of all the profanity he seems to be a pretty decent guy....Imagine that Yamiks had used racist slurs...
I get the feeling that this is the reason Yamiks didn't get a key - someone asked "why are we giving this guy freebies?".Also, just because something "is and always has been" doesn't necessarily make it "right".
It was discussed earlier in the thread - and as I noted, IMO there's a massive difference between shutting out a critical voice because they criticize your products versus not endorsing a channel where the problem is toilet humour. Had Hardware Unboxed been some kind of edgy frat humour channel and got canned for their distasteful presentation, I seriously doubt there would been any sort of public outcry to get them reinstated as review piece recipients. You obviously didn't follow the "case" of Hardware Unboxed vs Nvidia. Yes, that is why I said 'imagine'.Well, he didn't, because in the middle of all the profanity he seems to be a pretty decent guy.
