Glorious HIPs - 3306

Done and done (haven't updated the pie chart yet.)
I will do another edsm sync at some point today also. I am currently holidaying in the Bubble to catch up on some engineering before I head back out on slice 50.

HD 218441 (HIP 114230 -2465,-2921,340)
HD 217178 (HIP 113453 -2755,-2779,355)
HD 216734 (HIP 113180 -2674,-2603,366)

I am thinking of naming these 3 three stars the "Hipparchus Challenge".
I have spent the last 2 days trying to reach them. They are quite close together, so I know if I can reach one, then the other two are also reachable.
But the closest I have got is about 520 ly. So out of carrier reach I think.

Only 13 reachable stars left, but the furthest one is 13,000 ly away.

I have uploaded the relevant journal into EDSM manually. Didn't seem to work.
The missing stars did not appear and are not in my EDSM history (but are in my EDD history).

My recent star visits are
HD 121147
HD 126007 *
HD 129921
HD 124896 *
HD 124170 *
HIP 67396 *
HD 126199
HIP 70420 *
HD 125919 *
HIP 70617

Those marked with a star are missing from EDSM.

I don't really want to go back to those systems to relog in the system, and jumping in and out with a carrier wouldnt make any difference I guess (no way to jump in and out with a ship 'cos they're too far apart).

Now thinking I might spoof my journals with a dummy log-in/out entry, but don't really want to do that.
Just recently used edmc rather than EDdiscovery and found that edmc at least gets a system entry in edsm.
But not the full system scan as eddisc. would insert if it worked.

Did you try doing a sync from EDSM, I had a missed one and that eventually updated.

Just about finished with my slice. Here are a few that are a bit too out of the way for me:
  • HD 174261 and HD 343222 (1 kylie north and above the Traikeou Nebula; plenty of neutrons)
  • HD 174283 (1 kylie under Gandharvi)
  • HD 173991 (1 kylie southwest and under Polo Harbour)
  • HD 174372 (far away from most well-traveled highways)
And here are some that are potentially reachable with a carrier:
  • HIP 92526 (from HD 186118)
  • HD 229436 (from Praei Aiq XE-P d6-0)
  • HD 173409 (from Tryoae Hypue AY-F d12-0)
And here are the ones that I think are unreachable, but, in case I'm wrong:
  • HD 173946 (y = -3587)
  • HD 173313 (y = -3344)
I'll post more about what I found when I turn in the data.

Ah yes, little Bobby Tables. :)

So today I found this...

Well, looks like I'm awful because I missed 3 systems near the bubble:
  • HIP 92568
  • HIP 92236
  • HD 173671
All of these systems are in EDSM, but not all of its bodies.

At the moment the FC with no name is fueling up, rather slowly due to various obstacles not least being price of fuel and only S and M pads being available at my selected supply locations, however I equipped a Python for bulk delivery and it's proceeding.

One thing of note, I used my old trusty Type 6 E as a bubble taxi, that's such a sweet ship to fly, I miss it now more than ever, if only there was a way to get a decent jump range out of it. It will stay on board the FC with no name for use, I think that's one ship I will never sell. It will take me a while to fuel up before I can head out again to clear up the hard to reach remainder of my slice, oh well.

I also really love my T-6, which has taken me all around the galaxy without problems. Might be a bit hotter than the other exploration ships and doesn`t have the best jump range, but it has charm. This is my build with a decent jump range of 55 LYs: https://s.orbis.zone/8nfl

My progress so far: Slice 55 on Google

Light green: visited and in EDSM
Yellow: does not resolve
Orange-red: too high or too low

Yesterday I tried the whole evening to reach one certain system but couldn´t get any closer than 521 LYs. :(

The few remaining systems will need some time because they are not easily reachable.

Alright, I'm "almost" finished with slice 7. The remaining ones are either further away, off the plane, or need a carrier to get to, so I'm combining the trip with slice 8 to get those (I may hit some sooner, some later, etc). I still have those bookmarked, and they're all HD or HIP systems. The bulk of the rest are done. I have been updating the name column in my copy of the slice data, too.

EDIT: Actually there is a nearby group of slice-7 stars I need to hit too, but I'll probably pound those out tonight. They're all HIP/HD, so no unusual names to carry over.

Here's slice-7, with the columns sorted by longitude again: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wrCYWzfbradJkJoBU9BiY6AVa2fsMjbI6jBNEblLCeI/

Nothing to see yet since I'm just about to start on this, but here's slice-8 sorted by Sol distance: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BdSszzezSwaSIfMK9uW4uALpUOrSU53xsq-1jhuVzXQ/

A nice way to round out the evening last night, I came across an ELW in an untagged HD system in slice 7:
