I have watched that several times, it's a very interesting video.
Now I have started ticking off systems in slice 3, and I came across system that I can only think was such a missed opportunity for the discoverer, 13 terraformables, 10 HMC and 3 water worlds all scanned with the FSS I am presuming but none mapped, or may be it was from the old days before the probes. 22m for mapping them all, would have been much more if only I was first there, oh well never mind!

No, I would have mentioned it if it was
Just realised that my carrier was passing not too far from 69 Cygni (HIP 105811) so I ordered the Iron Vengeance over for a look.
Fortunately Cmdr Nova Tschik was onboard and she kindly scanned the whole system and entered the data onto EDSM.
It's very handy leaving your best friend on the carrier.
BTW, Cmdr Nova is my alt account.
Updated with the latest from edsm. Numbers are still creeping upwards.
After the latest slap in the face to explorers from FD this space-whale is going on possibly permanent sabbatical. Would anyone be interested taking over maintenance of this project?

Jackie Silver, very sad to see you leave. A huge THANK YOU for everything you did for our community in the last years!
I read about that a few days ago...meh, let them keep it, it affects me exactly zero.
I hope you change you rmind Jackie, this has been an interesting project. Also I expect double engineered FSD will be available to all eventually and this CG was just a way of introducing it.

That there's much more narrative action in the bubble is obvious since some weeks.
And sry, but if I decide to do niche stuff in a niche aspect of the game
(which explo always was and will be; not to accept this after all this years and experiences with FDev is at least ignorant) and still moan about not getting the mainstream activities rewards, I should search the problem within myself...
I live 15kylies out on my DSSA carrier (so niche myself), still I'm prepared with some sucidewinders to get back fast so I can participate in (mainstream) things if I want to...
CG announced, so "no warning" -> untrue
hauled in the 25%, so "no chance" -> untrue
(even without a FC as theres lots of teabagging going on and with a casual players game time)
will get my item, return to my FC and go on with my niche survey at my chosen home...
So, I wouldnt call it a rage quit, but maybe you are just burned out from your hardcore activity within ED over the years, Jackie, and as every addict you need excuses to drop out of your addiction

@GroG79 and @Rudi Raumkraut : you might want to read Jackie's earlier post on the matter. Especially the "I'm leaving the game on account of this, Tencent, the Epic announcement and the FSS. Mostly the FSS, to be sure. " part.
"No warning" is certainly true. Frontier didn't say "next week's CG will have an overpowered and otherwise-unobtainable FSD as a reward" or anything like that, so all this came as a surprise when the CG went live.
To be frank, I think it's a terrible idea that Frontier is now giving time-limited rewards that players compete for and are otherwise unobtainable. They could just come out and say "everyone will be able to obtain such modules later", like in Odyssey, but they've been entirely silent about this. (And yes, I tried asking in public, I tried asking in private; zero responses.)
The amount of thought they gave to this one is likely reflected in the CG text though. "long range fast boost, size 5 FSD ": pretty much every word there has an error.

Wrong imo.
As (true, hic!) explorers we are pretty aware that "the narrated game" happens within the bubble
and not out in the black, so we were warned the day we were leaving!
I read the other post of Jackie and the thread its in which you started
If its the FSS or the recurring disappointments of the exploration community by FDev which makes someone complain or quit, fair enough.
But I just cant see any problem with items which aren't obtainable by everyone.
I want this special breastplate , which only drops from Kurniax The 3rd, raidboss of The Dark Stinky Caverns...
well, I have to kill Kurinax, and first I have to train 3 days a week with 23 other ppl to get it done eventually after two month when the next expansion with Kurinax The 4th is out...
I dont have enough time to dedicate into such games anymore,
but I can get enough free time over a weekend, to get this lousy FSD
And if not, well, my d1(k works well enough although 15% shorter than others

I'm not sure where she was in the galaxy, but it can be long way, and very distracting, to get back for a CG with an interesting reward.
So it was obviously not easy for some explorers to participate.
That said, I was only 5kly away, so was able to get back with my carrier, and am on track for a top 10% with both my accounts..
As for Jackie, I am disappointed that she decided to go on a sabatical, hopefully not permanently.
When the CG is over, I will be back to finish slice 13. Hopefully the spreadsheet will continue in her absence.

Or maybe it's more like, I'm an Elf with special bow skills but Kurniax, who drops a +9 Bow of Wondrous Penetration can only be defeated by a mounted knight in heavy armor with a lance, at which point he will he will get a weapon that's all but useless to him, oh and it's untradeable.
