If you would like to carry on with another slice, I have updated the unexplored stars speadsheet in a new format..
The spreadsheet is still ordered by slice, but within each slice the stars are ordered so that they can be followed as a route.
The routing algorithm is the "nearest neighbour not already visited", which seems to work reasonably well.

There are some long routes and a few short ones. If would like to follow a route, feel free to choose one, and let me know here.

edit 1: I also updated the new spreadsheet , but haven't done the statistics yet as there were only about 40 new entries (mostly Arnoldo's and mine)
edit 2: Reminder that the X,Y,Z values in the unexplored stars spreadsheet are calculated from the original star catalogue, not actual ED positions, and therefore may not be accurate.

Some of the stars in this list couldn't possibly be reached by any method players currently have at their disposal, the list of PSR stars have some stars as high as 22,000ly above the galactic plane, strange, I can only think some sort of dev led or inspired activity led to them being in the database.

Could it that they have just been trilaterated and not visited at all ?

That's possible yes, was just discussing that on the ED Astrometric thread, entering the system names into EDSM comes up with nothing at the moment, just not found, but the data in the data dump must have come from somewhere. But it can't be player initiated as you can't focus on the systems at all, they are outside the bounds of the galaxy completely.

Probably not so odd. My commander name is Expugnax.
Expugnax has been following an easy route I made for stars near the bubble where the HIP stars are all fairly close together.
This means only a few jumps between each and I get to them fairly quickly - but which cuts across many slices.

I have only done about 100 stars out of about 1500 stars on the list. I have been slowed down by trying to find the exobiology on the atmospheric planets.

So here's an extract from the list which starts with some stars from slice 29, you may like to follow this route below. The data is taken from the unexplored stars spreadsheet.

If anyone else would like one of these easy routes let me know.

Just thinking about the route in the previous post.
I have a program which reads the list and picks off the next star in order. This is activated by a voice attack command when I say "Next system".
The program puts the "HIP 12345" text into the windows paste buffer, the VA script then pastes it into the galmap and starts the route plotter. Very neat.

I dont know if the spansh route plotter can do this, but it is very useful and I can make it available if anyone would like it.

The stars I listed above in post 966 are still available. If there are too many, just take those from slice 10.

I'm now thinking that just doing a single slice is a bit restrictive because many of the remaining stars are grouped in neighboring slices and better done together.

When I was doing hard to reach stars in my slices I actually found the closest stars were sometimes HIP stars in neighbouring slices, so once you do hit these last systems that's almost certainly going to be a more efficient methods of doing them than sticking to the one slice.

Just ran the merge program for January. 563 new matches found.

There are 2200 stars still on the unexplored list. But I think many of those are actually unreachable. I will update the unreachables speadsheet shortly.

I'll get to work on those ASAP, almost done bringing my FC back. If someone else decides to do them before I do, no worries. Ill do slice 10 if thats the case.

As far as I kmow there is only you, me and Arnoldo working on this project at the moment.
We have separate lists, so it doesn't look like we are doing the same stars.
BTW, these lists are in sequence so they can be visited in the order given, and there is no need to bookmark them etc.
Also, the lists are "easy" because they only contain stars quite close to the bubble. The hard lists come later !

Just a heads up, my current leg out from the bubble on what I am working on will put me out near the Heart and Soul Nebula, after that the plan is to turn around and head back towards the bubble, but if there's any out that way I can do can you produce a list of targets from the H & S area back towards the bubble, I am not sure what area that comes in with the slices but anything around that area I can do as I am already out there with all my current targets scanned.
