You'll find people who ask for advice get tons of advice. If people just want to say they like Solo, good for them.

Basically it are people who dont play in Open, and want to believe anyone else is Really Missing Them.

Agreed. There are plenty of examples of this.

Also, as I said previously, the position that Open is devoid of players is baseless, and is usually only held by folks who themselves have been killed in Open and are holding a grudge.

Or they can do what most of us do and not bother. Its not like the sociopaths you encounter in Open offer the kind of lasting player interaction any sane person would long for, let alone actually miss.

How does the typical PvP MO of taking an over engineered Conda, Corvette, FDL etc. and hunting down noobs and shieldless trading ships translate into any kind of behavior/skills to be admired?

Frankly, my reaction to such pond scum is just the opposite. There are no redeeming qualities available in that mode that can not be experienced in any other that would warrant even 10 minutes worth of my free time invested into better coping with A Holes. ;)

The A Holes can have it! I really couldn't care less. A single PG session with trusted friends is worth a dozen mediocre Open sessions with arrogant randoms.

Open is a waste of time unless you want other people to get on your way when you try to get stuff done.

If you want cooperative interactions, aim for a PvE group like Mobius.

Theres no shame in using solo mode when in busy areas or CG...just about everyone I know does it and nobody so much as raises an eyebrow. I suppose thats a perception which is dependant on the company ye keep...stay in the company of people ye dont know and sooner or later, the inevitable happens.

Thats open...and thats perfectly justified play. Doesnt matter if ye dont like it or agree with it...that doesnt change the fact that its perfectly acceptable gameplay. Those are the unspoken rules of open where anything goes...yer here long enough to know the rules without the midweek tear pool.

I play most of my time in open but its a moot point because Im an explorer and meeting someone in the black by chance? Now that indeed is a rare find in a galaxy largely full of nothing but beige. But ye...if I deem meself simply not in the mood to listen to the childish, insulting and sometimes downright nasty salt of open in busy areas, or dont feel like running the gauntlet of speed limit enforcement vigilante squad, then I go solo.

Its not that I dont know how to avoid them...I do...but sometimes I just cant be bothered having them in the same game as me. Doesnt really get much more complicated than that. Listening to morons is one thing...having them playing their childish little games at my expense however...thats something else.

Its a mode equal to open...why make such a big deal over it?

It's the purpose of internet discussions to make a big deal of everything
