sure for now... how long till they kill the servers because why support somethign you are no longer developing. Not to mention so many of us have been waiting for the new content and story progressions and we won't ever get that. So there's nothing new to do or gain from playing for a lot of us that have been around since the Game Preview.
Just curious, why would anyone merge from PC to console?
While i understand your sentiment OP, i really hope we don't get a "i quit" thread from every console player.
You might, almost. I recall when Frontier decided to drop the standalone version of the game while in development. The furore went on for days and days, 24/7.
The only thing I can think that would be contractual would be console exclusives. This game doesn't have any correct?
In the final analysis, it's really about saving your game state and having the ability to restore it, regardless of platform.
This would not have been such a fiasco had FDev invested a bit of development in multiple accounts per game and the ability to import an account, regardless of platform.
Frontier should have anticipated the need for saving and transferring game assets when they decided not to support Apple. Now, we have the same event again, and again, no ability to restore game assets, regardless of platform.
I think it is about time FDev gives us the ability to use a second account in Elite, and the ability to import game assets from console platform.

Such naive amatour. I had this much ever before console relase, and it was only warming up. Good old times.
Try getting 1200 kills on console. I transfered from PC yrs ago tovplay with friends. Its a different world.
Much harder to aim without mouse too.
Hotas only since 2014, and killed over 8000 cmdrs, and had overall about atleast 30k PVP encounters so far. Currently not much as active in PVP, but still get few cmdrs kills each time I play, as those who I do meet and if they aint flying PVP setups, they do perish before me cuz I have habit to KOS anyone I can instance with, especially if it happens on anarchies./ Cant get rid of my evil side, but again, I do not even close to what I did on my prime.
I died only 194 times, wich about 94% of it was from suicide attacks near stations, wich all of it, caused death to another cmdr while I was into it. It was quite simple, I used 5% hull eagle, and if they was speeding near station above 100 m/s, my ram into them ended up station killing them. I only attacked big 3 or PVP ships, mostly at CG.
Very few only bested me on 1v1, and those even not playing anymore, and aint saw anyone that much good since 2 years now. But some kids these days are more toxic kind of.
I played with K&M a bit, when my first hotas died out, maked railgun sniping easier but still I prefer hotas anyway. Better feel of ship, and better immershun for me, so buyed second hotas and using it till today.
Does it matters? Nah, I dont think anyone would care about it.

-more balanced play, no zero latency zero lag monster rigs, everyone on the same rig.
-PC is land of the 3rd party app/aimbot/editor/console command crowd
Pc has 10x the player base. Not shocked.

But I did not came to talk about that, but you where one who said "try 1200 PVP kills on consoles first" cuz you though I am K&M user, based only upon due I am belong to PC crowd. Also, if you think everyone on PC cheats, you are mistaken. Ive seen cheaters only few times, and only once per each (not single of them was longer active than few hours at open), while rest of my 30k+ PVP encounters had no sign of cheating. I mean those who could outrun my FDL/Phantom by anacondas or pythons, while thier shields or hull magically could stop droping after certain point, while dealing abnormal dmg themselfs. But luckly for myself, all of them was so bad at piloting, that still was able to toy with em.
Yes, seen those anacondas going over 700m/s with unkillable hulls/shields. Few from many thousands.
I been once also been killed while flying my PVP cutter, by cobra 3 who oneshoted me with its railgun, while I had 100% of my shields and hull. But only once, and never seen this cmdr in open ever again, nor seen anyone else who used such hack.
Still, those encounters was less than 0.1% of my open PVP experience, and again, seen each cheater as such, only once per each. I guess they was perma banned not much later after reporting them.
I think I got carried too much, my "thesis" tad bit too long, I guess. I did not say I am best of best, it was more like that I am one of among of them. Once we would had a battle ourselfs, you would understood...
But sadly, thats aint possible, you are console user, I am PC user, and you since you are leaving anyway, we probly never meet in battle, as your progess wont be transfered over, only credits would, and that was stated many years ago, that nothing else wont be possible. But here we go again, console support got cancelled, and of course threads about how progress should be tranfered appeared...
