Maybe we could put all their names on a special tourist beacon. While i understand your sentiment OP, i really hope we don't get a "i quit" thread from every console player.

A merge from PC to console years ago. A wonderful dquadron. Friendships formed and bonded. Over 1200 pvp kills, over 25 billion credits earned. Maxed out all materials, over 20 individually min/maxed ship builds, not a single thing I havnt done in this game. To support the game i also own every single cosmetic in the game on console. It saddens me to say this but I officially, and with great resentment, hang my tags.
Frontier, you held the market for so long with this niche game. But your poor decisions and bizzare focus and failure to listen to a large portion of the community created a drop off in player base..we still had the game in high hopes on the back burner waiting for your update on odyssey for console. But because of your delay, people began losing interest. And then you slap us in the face with an ultimatum. All development is to end on console. I know you came to this decision because you saw the drop in activity....the drop that you created. I love your game, i love what you've done. Please take this as a learning moment. I am sorry to say, I wont be the last to leave a dying game. This could have been prevented with integrity and open and punctual communication but there was none. We played on and played your guessing game. But it dragged on to long.
I wish you well frontier, i hope maybe you release a new version of ED some day. But as it stands, the game is dead to me and many others share the same sentiment. It isnt just about Odyssey, arguably, we could do fine without it, we have for years. What we cant deal with though, is being abandoned.

Uh... unless we don't/can't migrate to PC. That's not an insignificant proportion. Not so quick, BH. Most console players stand to gain from this, even though they don't see it right now.
it's from Yamiks isn't it - why would they waste their breath replying to that 'person' (was most polite word I could find).
Yamiks is a huge community contributor. Its one thing to just not be entertained by his content or sense of humor and an entirely other thing to refer to someone like that throwin hatershade from that haterade mug.it's from Yamiks isn't it - why would they waste their breath replying to that 'person' (was most polite word I could find).

You might, almost. I recall when Frontier decided to drop the standalone version of the game while in development. The furore went on for days and days, 24/7.
It's quite obering to go into ant elite community such as the forum or reddit or discord channels just now as they are all full of similar tales of woeful console CMDR's throwing the towel in, writing their CMDR's obituary, often with their favourite screenshots etc. It's really sad. As a VR-ex-player I literally feel your pain, I don't know what else I can say other than I'm sorry bud. With thousands of hours invested.

As laudable as that is, being pragmatic, only a small amount of console players will want to move to PC, typically players have one set of hardware or the other, rarely both. And the price of PC componentry just now is exorbitabantly inflated, [hello graphics cards], putting a real financial barrier to anyone willing to make that jump. Who in their right mind will splurge $1500 on a decent gaming PC to play Odyssey when they already have a perfectly good console for playing most other games, especially if that is a current gen console such as a PS5 or XBs/x, so as sad as it it, I expect there will be only a small portion of the console community will migrate.I stand with Commanders who now transition to PC. Please FDEV, David, approve full account transitions!
Anyone who is transitioning and needs a squadron to assist feel free to join The Hive. PM me.

Bit of a generalisation, there's a big price gap between for instance x060 and x090 editions. Unless you absolutely want top-of-the-line hardware, you can assemble or buy a PC capable of running most games in that price range just fine if you stay away from the Ultra settings and triple monitor setups.$1500 is a 30xx series card alone. How can you get a full decent gaming PC for that?
I agree giving console players a PC account is not a perfect solution but it looks like it's the only one available. It's better than nothing.

Pretty much this, highend GTX cards are a fraction of the price of RTX30 cards, and still punch almost as hard in most raster rather than raytraced situations, but if you need RTX, you can get a 3060 for ~$700(new) and fill in the gaps with a ryzen 5 3X00 setup. I built my son a Ryzen 5 / 16gb / 500gb NVME / GTX1650ti PC for circa a grand a couple of months ago. My daughter wanted an "all the RGB build", she put christmas and birthday money together and we built a Ryzen 3000 series PC, 32gb RGB ram, 1TB NVME, 4x corsair RGB fans, old GTX970 I had lying around, including the resale value of the '970, corsair RGB keyboard and mouse and we were ~$1500 all in.Bit of a generalisation, there's a big price gap between for instance x060 and x090 editions. I watched a few of his videos, and while most of them are certainly "colourful" I never heard him once being homophobic. I'd really like to see any source on that accusation. Not saying it's not true, but usually when we accuse someone of something, we tend to provide some proofs of said accusation. What's entertaining about abusive crap towards Fdev staff, homophobia and making a berk of himself at community meets?
