Graphics Card Question

So I know a little bit about computers, but not much (which you think I would after gaming for so long but, regardless). Right now I have a Radeon HD 7970M. I have done a 'Can I run it' and I'm aware I don't meet the minimum requirements under the graphics card alone. But under the attributes, everything seems to be matching. I'm not quite sure what this means. Now I know a gamble would be if I could even get playable FPS but could anyone be able to tell me what my headache might be like? I can deal with a bit of lag, and don't need the shaders up all the way to have a good time lol. And in regards to a bigger zoo how bad that would tank any semblance of playability I might be able to conjure? Please and Thank you :)

Hi Sarah.

That image above is telling you that the game requires Pixel Shader 5.0, Vetex Shader 5.0 and 2048 megabytes of Dedicated video RAM to run. The last column on the right shows that your graphics card has all three of these things (2048MB of RAM = 2GB), so you should be able to play it.

My card is an older one, so I get around 20 - 30 frames per second on medium to high settings. I don't mind the lower frame rate as it's not a fast moving game. I do, however, have an issue with some animal textures looking really poor, but I've been informed by Frontier Dev that it's a known issue and they're looking into a fix.

Your graphics card does actually meet the minimum requirements, so you would be able to play the game on that card. I don't think anyone could tell you exactly how the game would run (unless someone pops into this thread that has the same PC specs.) Just beware that huge park sizes are guaranteed to decrease the performance, even on high end machines.

Personally, I would buy the game and download a few different park sizes from the Steam workshop to see how your system performs. Have a play around with the graphic settings too. You can always ask Steam Support for a refund if the game does not run great for you, just ensure you don't play for over 2 hours, otherwise you'll lose the ability to get your money back. :)
