I haven't thought about something like that, but it might be interesting. Picking a few 50-ly search areas would be a reasonable scope.
Mostly, I hope the techniques we've developed get applied in similar searches by others:
- We have a decent way of bookmarking systems that aren't known to EDSM.
- Our search procedure is doing a good job of finding things that it's supposed to find.
- The spreadsheet, its scripts, and the community engagement on Discord seem to be a workable model for organizing and coordinating.
I'd like to think that our methods will survive the survey to be used elsewhere.
Personally, I've spent over a year doing pretty much only this survey. My guess would be most of this year will be spent finishing it (unless we get even more folks to help each week). I have a circumnavigation planned that I've been itching to go on. So once we're done, I will probably take a long break from things like this to get back out into the black.
