RCT 3 IOS Great RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 app but some (bug) fixes needed

It's great that you created such a nice iOS Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 app with a one time only purchase and no in-app purchases! Awesome.

I've bought the game yesterday night and started playing it immidiately. Unfortunately there are still a few small bugs and fixes that are needed.

Bugs:
– Circus can't be 'opened' (green flag) but only 'tested' and 'closed' flag work. I haven't seen this issue with other attractions. If i find others i will let you know.
- If you select 'Settings' and then press the 'I' (info) button the app closes
- The text/information description is missing when you try to add employees (e.g. cleaners, security) to the park. I do see the 'x' and 'v' and when i press the 'v' i do see that i've hired employees.

Not easy to operate:
– It's not easy to add a few paths after each other
– When i start at the start point of a rollercoast to create my own coaster and somewhere in between to decide to also start building from the end point of the coaster i can't easily connect the parts in between. In the end i chose a standard coaster layout.
– It's not quite clear (top view) where the entrance of a shop/eat/drink building are. I did get a notification in the game with a few shops that people weren't able to order (the notification is great).

I hope you can fix the bugs and find a way to solve the few things i mentioned. Overall i would advise others to buy this app when the small issues are resolved.

I'm using the latest iOS app (NL/Dutch user) from RollerCoast Tycoon3 on my iPad mini2 (retina) on iOS8.4.

Hi pacorob,

Thanks for posting!

Can I just enquire - are you using the game in Dutch currently? If so, please could you try changing your device language to English temporarily - as Dutch is not a supported language for the game and could well be the cause of a couple of your issues!

With the features that you're finding difficult to operate - I have to say - I think it might be a case of practice, practice, practice! The pathing systems and mechanics take a little while to get used to - for example, learning that you can't have a change in direction and incline simultaneously.

With the customer coaster building, I sometimes like to add the main start, end, and a particular feature at one end - then allow the auto-complete tool to finish it to make it easy!

And finally, when placing something like a shop, take a look at the colour of the arrows surrounding the building. The white arrow dictates the side that needs to face a path for the shop to be used, while the blue ones indicate it's rotation.

I hope this information helps! :)

Thank you for your response to my forum post.
I have my iPad and iPhone set to Dutch and your app was (partly) in Dutch. Only some text areas were not translated so it seems.

I find it odd that i opened various support tickets a while ago e.g. regarding missing Dutch text in some parts of the app. Your support team informed us that the update would fix such language errors (missing translation) in the Dutch version. Now your are saying that Dutch wasn't supported in the first place? Is it too much work to translate the rest?

I will continue with playing the English version now which is fine to me. It would be good to indicate in the App Store which languages are in fact supported now. This is pretty confusing.

Thank you for all your other response.

Is it correct that you can't change the park price from 0 euros in certain modes?

I have also seen cases where i put an advertisement in the papers but no people visited the park (after the recent iOS update). I will check again tonight if this is still the case.

I still need to test out of i can now 'open' the circus. This wasn't possible in the previous app version.

Hi pacorob,

Yes it's rather difficult to explain but it seems that if the device is in an 'unsupported' language, some pieces of text are translated and used in-game - while others are not.

We did see a few tickets around language support for RCT3 - but I'm afraid that our intentions to 'fix' the issue may have been miscommunicated. Our intention was not to include additional language support - rather it was to fix an error on the Apple App Store that stated that RCT3 supported languages incorrectly.

The languages supported by an app can be seen in the details section on the App Store when viewing an app. Just scroll down! :)

Please can you confirm what you mean, do you mean the entrance fee for your park cannot be changed in certain modes? I can't say i've seen the issue with the newspaper advertisements before either!

Thanks for the update. That explains a lot. It would be nice if a future version of the app will get complete Dutch support. For now i can work with English no problem. An option in the app to select a language would be nice for a future version (if e.g. Dutch becomes availalbe) instead of changing the language in your iOS device.

I have a park of which i cannot change the entrance fee. It stays 0,00 euros. Where should you normally be able to update that? I also don't see people visiting the park anymore. When i visit another park i see people again walking in the park. I still can't change the entrance fee however.

Quite a few players have already suggested the in-game language selector so that's being looked into I believe.

Firstly, in the game go to 'Manage' and then select 'Park'. On the 'Management' tab, ensure that the park is open. If you see the option to 'Open Park' with a green flag, this means the park is currently closed and no visitors can enter. This is also visible on the sign above the entrance which will say 'Closed'.

The entrance fee is typically changed in the 'Finance' tab, but it can't be adjusted in all levels!

I think i know what the problem is here with the park visitors. I thought that the open park and green flag meant that the park was currently open (that is a bit confusing). I didn't look at the park sign so stupid of me.

Regarding the changing of the park price. Maybe it has to do with the level then which i'm in. I need to check.
I did look at the Finance tab but wasn't able to adjust it there. Are you able to change the price when the park is open and closed? Or only when it is either open or closed?
