Look up the ED memes thread (it's about 260 pages long) and in it you'll find a few about flying to Hutton Orbital which happens to be in....wait for it...Alpha Centauri system....

You'll understand at that point.. :sneaky: 😄

Edit: There is a free Anaconda if you dock on that station without using a docking computer though so (y)

It's a joke right?

But when you are onboard FC it's easy to get there or not?

It's an issue, ay. Alpha Centuri is super famous for it (so just avoid doing missions near there ;)). But any system with a second sun can screw you over that way (if the mission target gets revealed to be orbiting it, rather than the more local sun).

There are some workarounds though. If you're doing a 'massacre pirates' mission for example, that same pirate faction will also appear in the 'Resource Extraction Sites' in planetary rings, so you can go and hunt them there. They'll also appear flying around Supercruise, so if you've bought an interdictor you can snag them one by one. They'll be marked as 'mission targets' in the HUD so it's not hard to hit the right guys. (If that faction is particulary tiny they may not show up in enough numbers to make it fun / worthwhile though).

If you're doing an assassination mission you're a bit more screwed, but they do also appear in Supercruise from time to time, and occasionally will even conveniently interdict you to say hello ;)

Yep, and when the target is an Elite NPC, expect it to high wake when its at 40% hull.
"Thx for dropping by kthxbai 🚀 "
Even Competent NPCs are using the high wake trick, I have discovered (from my Epic commander) if your weapons are not strong enough to deal with them quickly.

Fresh from Noobland, I find the only way to be sure to kill them, assuming you can't carry insta-death weapons, is to carry a high-wake scanner and pursue to the next system. That way, they don't reappear in a magically repaired state with full hull and shields. They have the damage you already dealt them.

That could be frustrating on the Hutton run .... approaching jump-out at the station and you are intercepted ... arggggh !

Yeah, I know the wake scan persists the done damage :)
But what I indeed meant was apart from the fact they can jump out, actually doing it after having SC journey of 90 minutes would be serious table flipping material :D
