You know, when I was growing up, we learned how to play games. We learned sometimes you lost, and sometimes you win, but only if you learned how to play the game well, or practiced an awful lot. When someone beats you, you don't have a right to whine about it when the person who beat you, did it by playing according to the game rules. When you get killed by another player, or player(s) as sometimes will happen, it is because you didn't run when you should have, you weren't paying attention when that CMDR showed up in the RES site and you chose to ignore them, your ship is not properly outfitted, you lack the proper combat skills to defeat your enemies. This is the part where one has to come to terms with the reasons why you got killed. Are you willing to do what it takes to win in a pvp fight? Will you be more observant next time? Will you run next time? Perhaps you will look at it as just part of the cost of doing business in the big bad milky way galaxy. The final option is to quit, and then whine about it on the forums, complain to the devs because your carebear-itis is acting up and you can't stop crying. This game is a game, you will win, you will lose, all based on how YOU play the game, not necessarily because of the player who smoked your ass so easily. Maybe you just need to accept the fact that someone is better at this game than you are, and use that fact to get the adreneline pumping through your veins, embrace that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach knowing this just might be one of those days you get owned by another player. For me thats what it is all about. I know I am not the best pilot out there. I don't have the best ships. I don't even have a million credits yet. However I have something many players don't have. You see, in real life I am a handicapped adult. I have learned that life doesn't always give a crap how you feel that day. Some days are gonna suck, and thats just the way it is. Some days you just get lucky and really good stuff happens. All one has to do is wake up every morning and face the day to find out what kind of day its going to be, you just never know. That's how I approach this game, and I wouldn't dream of not playing open play. I am addicted to the adreneline, and the sinking feeling in my belly. I really am. So, I say to all those people whining, suck it up, cut your losses, take it like a man, and move on and try again tomorrow. Otherwise, curl up with your favorite pillow, have yourself a good cry, and then go play the sims.
