Griefers make open impossible, and how easy the solution is.

You seem to get something out of being miserable in a forum of a game you appear to despise, but whatever floats your boat. Not my cup of tea though as it doesn't achieve anything so will leave it at that.

I read that ad hominem with a tiny violin playing for best effect. I'm truly amazed at how consistently shortsighted casual veterans can get while playing a live service relying on a stream of new blood to be viable.

And that's my initial point : Those endless threads of condescending "good" advice just led FDev to permit lock and further segregate vets from the noobs, making open the safest mode you could get in the starter systems anyway.

Not quite comparable, because in Elite you CAN beat the crap out of that spoiled brat. Never heard of anyone got banned because he went out to fullfill his revenge. As you said...there are NO consequences in Elite. It's what I do, when I got jumped from behind. Switching to my boat and hunt that jerk down.
Hm. Good point, although not valid for griefers hunting total newbs. How about making players below certain combat (?) rank excluded from pvp? Or something. You know to shield newbs from these lamers.

For years people have been asking for a "PvP flag". And they fail to understand that it is already implemented using modes... No matter how often you explain it, and however small the words you use.
Have You entertained possibility that YOU are the one who fail to understand? I mean serioualy, meaby if this is common thing for people to (modes =/= PvP flag), well meaby... thats the case?

Nice thought, but not in this game. The rank means nothing in Elite regarding PvP. You can reach Combat-Elite by simply massmurder NPC's, but still you won't have the experience and skill what's needed for PvP. It's a whole other game. Take this very thread here...you get Elite and permission to SD. Fine...but as soon as you get into the system most of the PvE'ers are caught pants down. Pity as it is, it's true...without proper training you're nothing but dead meat. I think it's one reason why FDev implemented the Modes. You MUST be prepared for the worst if you are dare to switch to Open. At least a decent fittet (A-rated) vessel. There is no need to engineer it. And to be honest...against a full wing of gankers almost nobody has a chance to survive.

At least FDev should warn all players with something like this: "Open-Mode...BEWARE!!! ONLY recommended experienced Commanders!"

1. Yeah but Expert/competent know what SCB is. Harmless sidewinder just started to learn about pips. Better that solution than nothing.
2. Yea but my whole issue with that, avoiding open is missing some cool folks to. Just because same lamers consider You as toy.
3. That wouldnt hurt for sure

An SCB can be sniped instantly by a competent (not the rank) murderhobo. but enough nitpicking. basically it's the same in every mmo with weapons involved. You will always have those folks. Sad thing is in Elite, there is simply not enough incentive for commanders to hunt those down, unless you are some kind of an altruistic idealist, like the members of S.P.E.A.R. and the like. Another thing is the P2P-structure. Sadly FDev stated quite clear, that they won't implement instant-killing Security forces like Eve's "Concord". I really would like to see them in Elite.

Oh before I forget...it came to my mind earlier...

Elite is violent and harsh in nature. I can remember my times with Elite '84. Boy that was frustrating...you just started your commander and one jump later you were ganked by 3 or 4 npc's. And no forum present were you can DEMAND npc-nerf. Same with "Frontier" were you could get ganked by NPC's right after take-off.:sneaky:

"Gid Gud" is written in the very genes of this franchise. 😁

My brother hadn’t played Since before Horizons dropped, bought it yesterday, flew out to Maia and bought two. So difficult.

Must have been the time of his life to wait for them to appear one at a time in the market and press buy between relogs. How long to unlock Farseer while watching Netflix, then?

Look behind you in the future. A Mastodon might stand right behind you with a torch and pitchfork, prepared to punish you because of witchcrafting. :sneaky:

No need to get paranoid. Never stalked any seal in the game, and you're the self inflicting kind, busy to train being some trivial San Tu content anyway.

You have SOOOO much of NO idea, what I did yesterday besides being popped by my mates. Do me a favor and stop read something into my posting that only fits in your bias and I never stated. A pity that you declined my invitation. But hey...Tomorrow we will have a Squad-Fight against RoA in the very same system.

So weird these days...Murderhobos arrange a meeting with gankers/griefers for a fair 'n' square contest of skills. I'm looking forward to this, although I'm pretty sure I'll be blown into pieces. We'll fight against some of the best this game has to offer.

So that I made that clear, my plead again to you to return to topic: The topic is NOT "Eliza's way to Gid Gud" but "Griefers make Open impossible..."

Still not interested a bit about your off topic game schedule I'm afraid.
