Guardian obelisk glitch?

Or the developer is a genius. Glass is half full for me!
It's not genius to grind your your player base down so much they no longer know what's intentional and what isn't, It's idiocy.

It's not about being half full / half empty, its about getting back into a position where the community has confidence in what you're putting out.

Yep. There's dealing with uncertainty in games, and then there's creating an inconsistent unpredictable environment that just serves to frustrate.

Original mechanics of finding barnacles were a great example. Game teaches you that things of interest on planet surfaces are either where the scanner "blue rings" are, or at the roaming mission surface markers. Where were barnacles/ guardian ruins etc? Everywhere the game taught you not to look. That's just bad design.

More relatably... it's like the confusion around open/pg instancing causing non-standard obelisks to light up, meaning all 33 of an alpha/ beta or gamma site's codex entries could be found at the one version of such a site.

For a long time people argued there must be a mechanic we hadn't discovered, or a need for multiple people to interact in some undiscovered way that we hadn't found.... turns out FD (a year later) confirmed that was a bug.

Making bugs and standard game behaviour indistinguishable is.... bad.
