guardian shard canon range issue

hello,
the guardian shard canon (turret size 3) should fire at 1700 meters but it opens fire only at short range (500 or 600 meter) . i'm playing solo (no multicrew) . how can i fix this issue?

Turreted weapons only automatically fire within optimal range with no damage fall-off. You can only fix this by firing them manually.

Are theses shard canon a good weapon ?
I never tryed them and not unlocked them yet

But i am happy with the plasmas and the gauss
