Guide / Tutorial Guide To Missions

some Missions in the Buliton Borad have a Star Symbol. It looks like rings and stars. What makes these missions diffrent from the ones without that symbol?

Have haulage missions that pay over 200,000 and more been nerfed because since the last update ive been all of the different faction area and im not getting anything over 100,000 some stations dont have any. If they havn't been nerfed then somthing is wrong because i can't sustain my ship which is a python. Can anyone help im in a high profit area and nothing.p

if you search in the galaxy map for the station it will show you where it is and it will not be in the target system I have been looking for why this is. the mission target port/station is usually 50 jumps away/ e.g., WHY?

and I'd like a delete message option. But the post is basically "the missions system seems borked" in a nutshell. Take a mission that is for "mostly harmless" get asked to attack civilians in a nearby system. Light the first one up easy, no problem. Then all the Alliance Enforcers and System Authority ships come at me with blowtorches on my butt. I can't even drop into a Hazardous zone without the Enforcers there. Why would they even put a mission like that up and call it "mostly harmless" when it's a sure way to the re-buy screen... Oh and not only that, now I have a hella bounty on my head and will be dodging godlike bounty hunter ships for a week.

I have a few questions regarding below described ranking missions and invitations ones.

I noticed the ranking mission shows whenever you achieve at your current ranking 100% however not always immediately. This one mission can cause your rank promotion at once, and quite frequently is not very hard to complete. I have played so far for the Federation mainly and have Chief Petty Officer rank (96% progress). In the Federation to get promotion you search for the missions with the name like - words: Naval, navy, promotion opportunity etc.

Are there any specified words that would allow anyone to recognize this is the mission i should complete for each fraction? I also noticed the rank goes quicker up if you select the harder missions with better payout or for example bounty missions with harder to compete with enemy.

Also for the invitation missions - I have now permit to Sol, Vega and wondering if i should now stay in these systems for any particular reasons? I have been in these systems for a while however missions were pretty boring and had poor access to ship outfitting - had to travel to the other systems to buy something because Sol does not supply almost anything for Python... I moved back to old good system where I continue my career (actually I have changed to another System already).

3rd questions - are there any better missions in the Systems with war status for bounty hunting or passenger transporting? I heard they are better paid because of the area is in a war status (and war generates money).

Thank you for the description above whatsoever.

X.) Varied Missions

There are two mission types which are identical to the missions above but offer very different rewards.
  1. Faction Ranking Missions
  2. Invitation Missions

Faction Ranking Missions reward you with military ranking in one of the primary factions - Alliance, Federation, and Empire. Beyond the reward they correspond to the other more common missions in all respects.

Invitation Missions are a reward in and of themselves. They provide you with a pass to an otherwise restricted system but currently have no actual mission to accomplish. Traveling to the system you've received your invitation to will allow you to take further Faction Ranking Missions which may not otherwise become available.

can anybody explain me what is the game logic beyond if you accept "massacre" missions in a same zone, where you have been training for hours, suddenly the ships ratio raise to 200000000:1 in your disfavour, suddenly you're the favourite target of the entire zone and before it wasn't? what could change in a conflict zone by the time you get to a station, accept a mission, and get back after 5 min max? please, i don't get it...

What you have written isn't very clear, however it reads as though you don't know how things work in CZs. Maybe explain better or go learn how to operate in a CZ. (Hint - don't attack anyone without first picking a side or you will die.)

Thank you for the reply :)
my problem\question is, since i'm at the "beginning" with 200 hours played, i'm getting annoyed by some sort of difficulty increase mechanic that i ignore somehow...
Right now I'm training for FA off, as I would really like to get at the point where I can stick to other ships tails, so sometimes I like to go in conflict zones as well... to train with moving targets, sticking to them quite a while, without engaging... than I pick the side with the majority of the ships (on the right menu, faction tab...) and start playing... is good, i'm able to raise 600.000\1.000.000 credits before going back for repairs.
My problems starts when I choose a mission to monetize more and I go back to the same CZ I've been in and out for the past hours "easily" and the other faction start to have increased amount of ships till the point that it is a suicide just picking the faction itself.
I do get a difficulty increase on ships having more experienced AI because you drop in with a mission active... some sort of trigger system...
what I don't get is that amount of difference on spawns for the opposite faction and the fact that despite having some targets to go with, they look more likely to focus me rather than everybody else... really odd behavior compared from before.
How does it works actually? Is there any game mechanic that I don't know yet?

No, I don't think there is a built-in mechanic specifically to make the opposite side to the one you have a mission to massacre have better spawn rates and I don't think there is a trigger to make you "public enemy no 1" to that side just because you have the massacre mission. However there is just the normal RNG effect to take into account and of course any mission being active does affect the RNG.

Just to be clear though, in a Low CZ there is more chance of you being "picked on" than in a High CZ - so maybe that is a factor you are experiencing.

I have not done a lot of combat lately so there may have been changes to when I last hit a CZ for a fight (probably well over a year ago :) ) and I can't remember how long before that since I did a massacre mission (if they were even called that then :D) - so maybe someone with more recent knowledge can help you out.

So some RNG is actually going on... I rather try some bounty hunting in extraction sites for the same reason, if it's going to be more enjoyable at this stage [big grin].
I was definitively attracted by adding those 1\2 million on mission completion by spending the same amount of time I do usually, two birds with one stone. But those vultures are expensive man! :D

Thanks again for the info :)
fly safe ;)
