Handing in cartographic data is not changing my explorer rank

Hi, please help, I am sat at 95% explorer and collected £200k of cartographic data and handed it in, but no change to the %, by my calculations I should have ranked up.

It also depends on your rank. If you're Pioneer, then you'll need more than 200k to increase it.

Patience young buck patience. 'Hold those horses cowboy', 'Easy Tiger' etc.
All good things to those who wait.

This may be of help young Padawan:

Rank Profit Required
Aimless 0
Mostly Aimless 20,000
Scout 135,000
Surveyor 570,000
Trailblazer 2,070,000
Pathfinder 5,070,000
Ranger 17,500,000
Pioneer 58,000,000
Elite 156,500,000

^ This would also be my guess. If scanned post 2.3 that's about 1/3 of a Water World ;) Would be hard not to pick up more credits by honking during the trip there and back.

Unless you're *really* handing in "£" - then you should really expect a decent increase :D

Except that this isnt valid anymore after 2.3 changes. When they changed the exploration payouts, those thresholds had to change also and i have read that after 2.3 you will need 300 mil to get Elite rank in exploration.
Again, this isnt something i can prove as Frontier hasnt given us anything solid to back this up, this is based solely on other cmdrs testimonies.

My experience is that it takes roughly 1.75mil credits to go up 1% from Pioneer to elite after 2.3.

Yarr.

It's pretty close to 2 mill of exploration data per 1%, at least with my experience 2 weeks ago. Thought it was close to 1.75 myself, but went thru my journal data in detail.

They didn't change the thresholds per se. They changed the credits earned-to-exploration points ratio.

For exploration-earned credits, it appears to be 2:1.

For sightseeing passenger-earned credits, it is somewhere around 6:1.
