Have you found planets inside rings before?

Amazing screenshot. Seriously. (y)

So, full-sized planets inside the rings of other planets is indeed an actual thing. This is a real exoplanet called J1407b.

Its rings are so big that they can block up to 95% of their sun's light if you're on the other side.
That's a fantastic image.

Here's another example beneath the Galactic rim

Two of the shepherd moons are in pairs ... you can see them between the inner and outer rings in this image ...

Gorgeous shot! You know I can't say I have discovered one! At least not knowingly. Do they have a codex category for these? I'd be intersted to know if I have and just didn't visit it. At nearly 1 million light years jumped you'd think I did.

No to Codex, I believe you have to visit to pick them out, as they don't show up as shepherds on the Galmap, either ... the more you visit, the luckier you get :D .... but I must have missed loads in my travels.

There is a program called Elite Observatory that will run in the background and let you know when you find any, although it does have a problem with binary pairs due to the way the journal reports orbital periods.

The most moons I have found so far in a ring gap is 5, be interesting to know if anyone has found more.
