Have your say on this Smuggling Nerf : should it be reversed?

Well I made about 200M so I cannot complain, 5m an hour used to be a good day trading for me. I never took much notice of the BB. Was it always this poor a pay out for a 100 Ly trip?

Yeah, because the guy doing the missions is the same guy who handles the dealings with the Amazon server department. That guy who cleaned the offices today at FD HQ? He should have just focussed on landing on earth-like planets if you ask me. :p

How do you know its a server issue? It could be a bug in the jump system itself that causes the client to stop sending information to the server, or too many queries produced by the mission billboard screen / system that is buffering a slow down in memory allocation.

Could be a number of non server related issues ( as the cause, but solely in part ); but it's more than likely a server related issue.

"Elite Dangerous. Play the way you want, until they patch an exploit. Then leave the game and sit in the forums with a tub of popcorn and watch the exploiters cry about their infinite money well drying up."

Just seen a 7.7m smuggling mission on the BB at Sothis, so the missions are still out there. Just seems less likely now...

Not that I took this one mind!

It's a bit of a mouthful (no pun intended) but that one works too. LOL

Don't know what all the fuss is about. It was great while it lasted, fun fun fun.... but it always was a goldrush. Supply and demand alone dictates this always was going to be unsustainable. The laws of economics finally kicked in. I'm off on that galactic cruise I promised myself a while ago, the extra money will come in handy.

I'm surprised this wasn't plugged days ago. Over 250 million a day is not "balance".

I'm not saying I didn't make use of it. I did and it was exhilarating and fun for the first 3 runs or so. Great balance of crazy money, lots of LY covered and some almost hairy situations with interdictions. I didn't need to use it though, I already had 1.7 billion, so it makes little difference to me, but this was never going to be the profitability FD intended smuggling to be. Treat this as a limited time smuggling bonus and forget about it.

Smuggling won't be the last big money maker, like seeking luxuries and rares before it, look forward to another unbalanced money maker when Horizons comes out.

This gravy train has just come to its end, book your ticket for the next one in a few months time.

EDIT: What I would appreciate though is that the devs would update the patch notes to say that they have changed something server side.

With my Asp full of poop I can make 10 million an hour, I'm an expert excrement expediter. I miss the cops chasing me, but that one guy wanting to jack my big load is always hilarious.

Nerf is deserved, no one should be able to get into a fully outfitted Anaconda in a day or two.

And no one was able to get into a fully outfitted anaconda in a day or two...

This is why we can't have nice things or decent conversations, because someone has to just start throwing out outlandish exaggerations from their rear thrusters.

If that is how you feel they could of just increased the rank requirements to Entrepreneur (Profit Required ~133,510,138) and increased the rank and class of ship that "have been looking for you". Nerf is not deserved.

Being able to buy the most expensive ship in the game in 1day riuned any sense of believability..... Sure.

Hell I love these missions there is obviously a need for them but spreading them out with tight deadlines would be 1 fix. As I said request missions to smuggle rares into the station is the other obvious one, again with tight deadlines would be another.

There are heaps of fixes that do not involve canning them all together

But how does a few extra people flying an Anaconda affect your game play? Why should it matter to you? Do you often have Anaconda envy?

From what I heard, that actually did happen. However this was only possible with the Bulletin Board abuse, which FD is hesitant to label an exploit. Without the Bulletin Board abuse, you go there, you get a mission or two, and then you average like 3-5 million credits per hour, a perfectly viable income level.

You are wrong 15 mil an hr was easy.
