Have your say on this Smuggling Nerf : should it be reversed?

Well, just when I found something interesting to do and was starting to enjoy the game again they went and removed it.

I was really tired of making basically nothing grinding away at missions. It's why I stopped playing for months.

Got back into it this week, was having a lot of fun too.

Not really outlandish - reading about hauls of 120M+ per single trip.

In a Python with all cargo apart from A3 shield and A4 scoop it was possible to be selective about missions so that the profit was over 1 million per tonne.

A single trip for me (at best) was 283 million. It did take 8 hours though.

outlandish exaggerations from their rear thrusters.

na brah, sorry but ppl are being pretty reasonable in this thread... I outfitted my Python for 128T of cargo.. load up full of smuggling missions and pulled 118M in just under 2 hrs... If you have the skills to avoid ganks and scans you can make an absurd amount of $$$

But how does a few extra people flying an Anaconda affect your game play? Why should it matter to you? Do you often have Anaconda envy?

Not sure if you are being obtuse or genuinely not getting that some of us want to play in a believable economy where an anaconda takes 100hs of hr to get.

I get why you disagree and want to be able to get everything asap but can you not remotely see how this could be game breaking for some?.

True story, i started to smuggle with a cobra, after that i buy a trade python and after two runs i get around to 333 in my account. Now i have the python parked in Diaguandri and i ask myself if it's worth to upgrade a 80 mil trade python to a 200 million python for combat. Maybe not, i really love my 60 million Clipper.

Those are people doing it in Pythons, they are 7+ hours "single trips". An Asp trip was 2 hours and 35-50M.
Also keep in mind that people with jobs and that kind of thing can't really get that playtime in a single day, which is required for the runs, you can't cut them in smaller pieces.

The only way some one was making 120M per trip was if they spent hours upon hours resetting.

It depends on which game modes you pick. Going between only Solo and Private generates the best reset I've found. Sometimes the board seems to "stick" and at that point I would use Open. It only took about 2 hours to fill a Python hold.

If you are ranked Elite in trade it was possible to be selective about missions and do over 100 million in the Asp, picking only missions that paid on average 1 million per tonne.

If you choose the missions wisely (aka more missions on the same station), you can have a 120-130 million run in 3 hours.

Yea, that's a LOT more accurate.. I can load up my Python in about 30 minutes (I do 5M minimum unless it's 6 or less cargo, then I'll do 3M) and I can be BACK in Sothis loading up again in 2.5 hrs after making over 110M.

Before it ended, I did one run in my python that net me 82m, it took maybe 10 minutes resetting but the hauling and dropping off was 3 hours

Easy come, easy go, I only heard about this last night, I got a few runs in and made a bit of money, the best thing I think was, I was able to play with some ships that would of taken me much longer to get into, as I only had a Clipper at the start.

Yeah but waiting for 1M+ cred/ton requires to exploit the mode switch. Some people made their money without cheating you know :p

It's the same "exploit" that people use to reset REZ to "big ship" spawns... Idk why smuggling got such a bad wrap for doing it when bounty-hunting forces a new instance too?!?

Does anyone know if this affects the Fehu system as well? I *just* got out there last night at midnight (US Pacific time), figured I'd pick up at least one 3 million cr. mission tonight and complete it, but now it sounds like the best I'll see is 1 million cr. missions.

Sigh. It always seems I'm a day late and a dollar short on these things. The other day I delivered Imp. Slaves to Achenar, but sold them before signing up for the CG (which was still ongoing) because I'm a CG n00b. 10 million cr. I could have had right there just for showing up.

Any details on exactly what the smuggling nerf consists of? I'm reading that you already have to have Elite trading rank, which is stupid if true. If you're already at that rank you're already richer than God, so what's the point.
