Hello ?

[...] I'm willing to bet they won't even implement the offline mode they promised when the game was launched.
But did they use the word 'promise'? 😝

For what's it worth, I never believed that any way. If at some point Frontier has to make the difficult decision to cut losses and turn off the Elite servers, I really doubt they would put in all that extra work to give former players an offline mode or private servers.

meanwhile i hope this will come true. The professionality could only improve from handing over Elite from Frontier to Microsoft. Looks what they are doing with the Flightsimulator.
I think you may want to fix your post... that line isn't from me.

If there will be no news today, I will be more concerned and no news the next week will make me even more concerned.

I heard of a "no n👹 november", but a "no comms january" is something new.

Normally I'm not one of these #DOOM people but I am worried.

It's the 'Reviewing the future of the Elite: Dangerous Franchise' line that got me from FDev stockbroker. Add to that;-,
  1. The company has lost 1.7 in the last six months and I hate to see what that's going to be for the whole year.
  2. The radio silence from the CMs.
  3. No new cosmetics in the store / no news letter.
  4. Obviously no news about Updates 10, 11 or consoles.
It makes me wonder if we're looking at the game being put into maintenance mode, which will probably mean finally sunset before the end of the year. You only have to look at the features they've launched and then let to stagnate because no one played them (mostly because they weren't implemented properly) to know they will not follow through on a project if they don't think its worth it.

I do hope I'm wrong, I mean the number of steam players are up, the updates have put the game in a much better place than it was on release and thankfully the plot is still going strong. However, I've been involved in too many MMOs being sunset that I can see the pattern. (Practically following SOE's 'How to shut down a MMO' handbook). I'm willing to bet they won't even implement the offline mode they promised when the game was launched.
I hear you, and I'm quite worried as well. But on the other hand I hope that the "review" will come to the conclusion that they have to step up their game and stop treating ED as the red headed stepchild like they have over the past few years.

Can I nominate a few names to flesh out the team?

Bottom Hat to assure that there is a lot of stuphz worthz hazzing.
Leo to hand out eggs in trying times.
Robert to patiently explain the modes and why open only is impossible.
Ratcatcher to be a voice of reason in this age of doom.
Why is the Panther Clipper so low on your want haz list that you don't nominate me ??
I will gib Panther Clipper to everyone!!

I would say though that this forums role is to deliver patch notes and livestream announcements. In KS days it contained the audience but today its just crazy KS oldsters and Oscar Dustbin Nutters.

So if anything is Doomed, I'd say its this forum since Twitter gets regular things.
