Newcomer / Intro HELLO!!

Hi everyone! Im new to the forums. I decided that if I am going to be playing the game and flying online that I should log in and say hi and maybe meet some good people and make new friends to fly with me. Im a big fan of Space Flight Sims and have been around ever since X-Wing and Tie Fighter came out. I Grew up at just the right time for gaming and got to play most of the classics. I still have all my discs as they seem to be becoming a thing of the past with all this digital stuff. I have Freespace, Freespace 2, Starlancer, Freelancer, X-wing, Tie Fighter and X-wing Alliance as well as others. Ive always loved games like those and I have been carefully watching Elite:Dangerous. It looks amazing. I didnt get in on the Beta as I wanted to wait and play the full finished product. I cant wait to get home from the Doctors Office today. Maybe I wont be sick anymore and will enjoy the game that much more. Well I just wanted to introduce myself to you guys. Maybe we can get in the game and meet up and play together soon.

Oh yeah. Please dont make fun of my heavy southern accent when you hear it :D I try to sound more normal but I fail at it miserably. LOL. See y'all soon!!

Welcome Sam, don't worry with the effects that are added (static etc) on the ship to ship comms, we probably won't even the accent (too much... :p) Besides - with some many english accents, everyone knows that we're Imperial Officers right? Wait... wrong universe...

Welcome, Commander. X-Wing Alliance was SUCH A GREAT GAME, and was so under-rated, mainly because it was released past the prime of the original Star Wars computer games. All the games you listed don't have lateral / vertical thrusters, so get used to having FULL 6-degree freedom in space, and you will excel at combat.

Due to a trip to the Doctor after suffering a really wicked headache and long sleepless night, I was late getting in on the download process today and Im currently watching my screen as the program slowly chugs away. I hate my slow internet. ARRRRRGH!! Hope its not that big of a file to download. LOL. See you guys soon!

Well while my headache is still killing me, my internet is not helping it at all!!! My stupid DSL internet connection has been in and out all day long. I STILL HAVENT gotten the game downloaded and I havent been able to watch or read any of the started guides at all today. This sucks. All you guys out there having fun and me watching the install bar slowly chug and then go out. LOL. Maybe I will have this downloaded before morning here and I can join all of you cool people out there. I cant wait. Never been into Multiplayer games much but this one seem different and has drawn me in to at least give it a good try. See you guys soon!!!
