Horizons Help Please!? I find no blue icons in my navigation. Horizons-bought, Planetary Suite installed

OMG, I've spent the last 2-3 hours trying to figure planetary landings out and I need help. I just have an eagle ship. I see the Planetary Suite appears installed in my internal compartments. I tried to land on a planet that the system map showed was land-able. I targeted the base from the planet map. But I hit a barrier notification on my descent. I sold and re-bought the planetary suite so I do think it's installed now. The Planetary Vehicle Hanger doesn't seem for sale at any space station that I've looked at though I've heard that they are available at planet-side bases. I'm hoping that a "class 2 internal" is big enough to handle one as I don't think I have a larger one on my eagle ship.

So my main problem that I can identify no as I pull my hair out is that in the navigation menu there are no blue icons denoting planets I can land on, even ones that according to the system map can be landed on with the blue halo (and city-scape). Why is this? I'm starting to hate the in-accessibility of this game. I love space-combat and some trading but I've never done much in this game finding it to be confusing as hell. I have googled my questions and looked at the training videos to no avail.

Any advice with why I have no blue icons in my navigation menu for planetary landings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well i suspect you've started version 1.5 and not 2. When you click play in the launcher do you have horizons highlighted to the right of the play button. Highlight should be blue not orange.

There are at least Class 2, 4, and 6 hangars that I have seen. So you should have no problem with a Class 2 slot. I've seen them at a lot of stations. I'm currently at Roche Gateway (Anurinjung). They have Class 2, 4, and 6 available. Perhaps if you state where you are somebody might be able to suggest a location close to you?

Don't know about the blue icons. Just to confirm, you are seeing planets in the nav panel without landfall icons that appear as landfall planets in the system map? If you are, you might want to take some screenshots and raise a bug report about it.

Hey, that's a possibility too. Why didn't I think of that? :)

I pre-ordered Horizons and have the base game on Steam.
Ok, I think I found it. I go to the Frontier store to get my Steam key. Man, couldn't they have made it more obvious to players that they were playing the wrong version. I wasted 4 hours. I mean the danged Planetary suite was installed on my ship even. Face-to-palm, grumble.

Well, thank you for helping straighten me out. So far I can't get my key. I think I have to enable cookies or something?

how do I generate my Steam key (dang my thread got started twice). I pre-ordered Horizons. I found my receipt.

Sorry I got my copy from FD directly, I'm sure others will be able to help with steam though. I must admit I thought steam did it all for you but as I don't use it I can't be sure.

EDIT: If it helps this is how the Launcher should look

Ok, thank you! I was able to get the Steam Key finally. One question, I wonder if I'm still going to get that message that says if I see both 32 & 64 bit version that I should re-download the 64 bit version? Why would I need to do that? Do you still get a 32 bit version, along with the 64 bit, showing too and the support message at the top saying you should download the 64 bit version again?

The Message about the 64bit version only states that 64bit Users are recommended to download that (instead of the 32bit).
Doesn't say anything about you needing to re-download anything ;)

So in the end, you should :
- see above Image offering all 3 Versions (Horizons_64, V1.5_64 and V1.5_32; and actually the Training)
- install Horizons 64bit and exclusively play that (which naturally includes all V1.5 content, making it redundant for you if you can run Horizons without issues)

I guess the V1.5 64bit and V1.5 32bit could still be useful for customers that purchased Horizons - but presently still lack the hardware requirements to run it.
That leaves them to play V1.5 even on a 32bit System until they upgrade Hardware/Software and keeps them in the game.

PS.
I'm under the assumption that Horizons customers actually also get all previous content... but I could be wrong about that.

Well, thanks for clearing that up for me. The message reads,"Support Notice : 64-bit or 32-bit? We recommend you install the 64-bit install of Elite: Dangerous if you are seeing both." So if one is seeing both they should install the 64 bit version. If you're seeing both doesn't that mean you have both already installed. Therefore this message makes no sense to me. But I take your point that I don't need to worry about it.

I had the base game through Steam and pre-ordered Horizons. It's downloading. I wish during the official Planetary Landings video that Frontier put out they would have shown us what to look for in the launcher,"Horizons", because I had the Planetary suite installed on my ship even though I hadn't launched Horizons (hadn't downloaded it). I was getting so miffed. I spent 5-6 hours failing to land on planets and in star base outfitting menus. So once I have Horizons installed then can I just land at a planetary base and then buy the Planetary Vehicle Hanger and SRV there? The official training video said they were more commonly found at planet bases.

Yeah it caught a few of us out, still as long as you're sorted now that's the main thiing. :) Enjoy your first landing :D

It's crashed twice while descending now. I have an nVidia gtx 980M with 4 gb of video ram so I think I'm Ok there. My launcher for Horizons after downloading it now is entirely new and doesn't show 32 or 64 bit versions to launch, only a Play button though the warning is still there,"Support Notice : 64-bit or 32-bit? We recommend you install the 64-bit install of Elite: Dangerous if you are seeing both."

If your only seeing the play button then you must be running horizon through steam?
to get the other options you need to run non horizon through steam or just run Fd client without steam to see all loading options.

Yes, I have the latest drivers for nVidia, v359.06. The way I was able to fix my crash issue was reducing the graphic overall setting to it's lowest. So I guess I'll have to find the sweet spot that I don't have the lowest graphics but that it doesn't crash on my nVidia gtx 980M 4 gbVram.

Thanks

ps.
I'm wondering now, can I just buy a planetary vehicle hanger and SRV on a planetary base (the official video said they were more common there)? When I got close to a planetary base in a friendly system (powerplay) I couldn't find a way to ask permission to dock there and it's security blew my ship up :\
I've read that,"Those that have tall buildings on their icon in your navigation list have a starport." The planet I was try to land at has tall buildings in it's icon, Nang Ta-Khian 2 A, and there was only one planetary base there. I'll try a different location and make sure the tall buildings icon isn't just in the system map but on the city itself on the planet map.

Hmm. I'm running a 970 series NVIDIA (not mobile though) at full Ultra settings without any problem. There might be problems with the mobile variant?

Look at the settlement facilities in the System Map. Look for ones that offer 'Docking'. They are the only ones that you will be able to dock at like orbiting stations and will respond to docking requests in the same way.

Yeah, I had the graphics on Ultra playing the game with no problem until these planetary landings :\

Now the game gets stuck when transitioning from Orbital Flight to DRP-Glide mode (on Lowest over-all switch/graphic setting). The graphics don't freeze but I can't go to options or open navigation although I can look around, and the transition (blue streaks on window) never stops. It doesn't finish transitioning. Am I not supposed to be in Cruise/Frameshift or something? It worked once again now on a neighboring planet, Nang Ta-Khian 2 A but I don't think I can land there. I'm trying to land at Dampier base on planet Nist in the Nang Ta-Khian system is where the tranisition gets stuck. After more testing it's not just on one planet that the transition to glide doesn't work, gets stuck. I just tried planet Buyukkale in system G 239-25 and the transition got stuck again and while on the lowest preset graphics setting.
