Help with Mining lasers

Sorry but here comes the usual buffoon question where the answer is likely obvious to everyone except me.

I decided to take a look at mining and I have out fitted a Python with the normal things required (refinery, limpets, prospector limpets etc). I also rocked up to an asteroid with my mining lasers ready to shoot away, only to be told that I cannot use them in that particular cockpit mode (the standard default mode)

The lasers are fixed mining lasers (2D) and medium hardpoints. I have set up a fire group on its own and with something else in case it was that causing the issue.

So what am I doing wrong please anyone?

You can only mine in Analysis Mode. Default button combo for mode switching is triangle + up. If you're running a custom binding from before 3.3 then you'll have to map the mode switch command.

That explains all - I have binded the key so Im ok with that, just didn't realise... As I said, I knew I was being a buffoon, thanks Spoil - Rep left, much appreciated and again Happy New Year
