Hey I need your help (Again)

I have a choice between 3 ships, here we go:
Type 6 - 1 million
Keelback - 3 million
Asp Explorer - 4 million
Which one I'm looking for a good all rounder, so keep that in mind. Thank You!

Asp Explorer is a good allrounder. In fact it's so good, I think it's boring. But go for it. It'll be a stepping stone towards a Krait/Phantom/Python. And you can always keep it as a long range transport or exploration ship.

Yes, AspX is your good all-rounder. It has a good FSD range, especially when engineered.

But remember the Keelback is the cheapest ship to allow a Ship Launched Fighter to be carried. You can have fun with that and explore the SLF abilities without enormous cost.

When I was faced with the same choices a few months ago (was new to the game too) I went with the Asp Explorer. It did a nice job of filling the multi purpose role until I got a Python for that role. To me, the selling point of the Asp is that I had a reason to keep it even after getting the Python so as not to lose the 10% value in selling it.

I repurposed the Asp to be my main long-range exploration ship. It remains in my fleet and gets regular use to this day, which is not something I can say about any other ships I used in my first few weeks of play. Credits are easy enough to earn that the whole 10% loss doesn't phase me anymore...but when I was newer and could only afford one ship at a time...it was a major deciding factor.

On the face of it it seems obvious, AspX. That's what I will recommend too.

But the others are fine ships.

The T-6 can be amazingly fast. Like FDL-fast.

The Keelback can carry a fighter.

But the criteria was all-rounder and I don't think you can go wrong with the AspX.

I'm not a fan of the Keelback engine sound and appearance etc., but I used one quite a bit for missions requiring planetary landings in tight spots because it is fairly small, it can carry cargo without excessive protection because it carries a SLF, and it will fight pirates at RES sites with the SLF as backup. So from that perspective it is also a good all-rounder.

Just remember the SLF crewman/woman takes a cut of your profits.

Keelback is a good ship but an acquired taste...i’d leave that one for now.

The Type6 has a better variety of optional internals than the AspX in my opinion. Its 2x5/2x4 is perfect for both cargo and passenger cabins which are both good options for earning credits.
Plus it’s 4A FSD is just 1.6 million credits vs the AspX’s 5A which is going to cost another 5 million on top of the ship price.

The AspX once outfitted is awesome at sightseeing tours...

...that’s about it. Can’t stand the thing.

AspX is the best all rounder. I tend to build specialist ships for dedicated rolls rather than try to do everything with just one ship.

My Type-6 tramp steamer generated the profits to buy an exploration AspX, mining AspX and Python.

Asp X is the only all-rounder in there.

Type-6 is a small box truck. Space U-Haul. Jump range is decent, but that’s all it’s got going for it.

Keelback is the Brinks version of the Type-6. More armor, fighter-bay compatible, but still just an armored transport.

The Asp can at least do Other Things.

Sadly, I have to agree with the majority - AspX will be the better all-rounder...
I still have both T6 and Keelback in my fleet, the T6 repurposed as mid-range explorer, the Keelback still seeing action occasionally, both will remain in the fleet just because they, for me, are great ships.
AspX went as soon as I could afford a Krait II, never looked back at one :)

AspX without a doubt.

I'm sure there are better builds, but here is what I explore in. Stripped down, she will get 60lys. With a Gaurdian Frame Shift Assist, I might be able to get 75lys out of it, but have yet to grind for one.

o7....
You won't get more than +10 in your jump range for a Guardian FSD (to the nearest decimal).

I own all 3 ships and of those 3, only the AspX and the Type 6 get used. The Asp is a good all rounder , my favorite ship,. The type 6 can jump over 50 ly and boost at 519 with dirt drive grade 5 tuning. Both are great but I would vote for the Asp.
