If the MK4 becomes as popular as the MK3, it means other ships must become much less popular. Its cool that you like Cobras so much but there are about 28 other ships in the game.

The Mk4 has insane internals and hardpoints for its priceclass, and is a very competent miner, combat trader, planetary runner and all-around MP ship. Its better than pretty much anything remotely in the same priceclass for all these purposes, so it clearly has a use for people willing to look beyond "OMG its much slower than the cobra 3!!11!" reactions.
So a better question is: are
you willing to reconsider your complaints about the MK4 if it turns out people use it very succesfully?
Jeez, I TRIED to be civil about how I brought this up, yet I still get responses like this. First off, how does one ship being popular cause other ships to be
less popular? You do know people use multiple ships, right? Anyway, I'm not saying the Mk IV doesn't have a number of good points, but it also has some very bad points. Many would argue that speed is THE quintessential Cobra trait, so it seems a little weird that the Mk IV would be seriously deficient in this area among all the others. You act like I'm being unreasonable for asking, ASKING, mind you, that FD keep an open mind on this topic. How could you possibly argue with the logic of wanting them to keep an open mind about this? Over 60% of the 300+ people who've voted in the poll in
this thread have indicated they probably won't buy a Mk IV, and only around 15% indicated they probably
will. Those numbers are worrying.
Perhaps the better question is: Are
you willing to at least
consider that those of us who think the Cobra should get some kind of buff may have a good point?

Every manufacturer produces a lemon now and again.
I wouldn't go that far, but you said it, not me
See above.
It happens also to cars in real life, that new model is less popular than old one. Although some people like MkIV as you can see on this forum.

Some people like it, but as indicated in the poll I referenced above, many more don't. Projection bias is defined, per the article you referenced, as "a feature in human thinking in which one thinks that others have the same priority, attitude or belief that one harbours even if that is unlikely." I know for a fact that many others are of the same opinion that I am, so how does projection bias apply, exactly?
I swear, what is it with these forums? It doesn't matter how nice and congenial I am, people still find I way to twist what I say and be jerks about it. I end up arguing far more on this forum than I have on any other forum in the history of ever. Sheesh.
