It probably rolled down a hill. It spawns and starts rolling.

Can confirm, I've seen it happen... handy because you don't have to deal with the drones ;)

Oh, but should probably be noted as something to be fixed ;)

i see open galaxy map from contracts is still broken... gg :)

Has this been reported before? I noticed it too (with some but not all missions) but didn't raise it in the beta testing page.

- Disabled steering controls when in headlook mode when using a mouse for both
The SRV can be steered using a mouse? Let me go try to find that option. I did try setting it up as an axis, but it didn't even try to take it last time I tried. Then again, that was Beta 4 I think.

EDIT: Found them. And there was much rejoicing on my end. (Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.)

"***UPDATE***

Minor edit to the change logs made.

- Adjusted fade off for POI blue circle so that it starts fading out at 2km and fades out by 1km"

Thank you FD. This is much better then beta 5.

Yes, its ok now. Pretty easy to find the poi to using the SRV. Man those Goliat skimmers packs some punch. But 1000 cr bounty was not much, couldnt pay the fine with it :p But all in all I liked it. Did some pois, collected some cargo. Found some rolling canisters. Tea this time, hehe. Now I guess we just need more variation in pois and lucrative cargo. But I think it works now. I am satisfied. Went to a RES signal after the poi testing and the "kebab roll" seems to be present still. Even saw an Elite Adder which completly stopped to turret shoot a Python. Strange sight, although the Python didnt start the roll, some ships did. If you can get some speed forward on the ship while the roll goes of, it could look like an evasive move. It would look cool. But now they seem to just stop :( I think its ready to be released, then we can play and test a lot during Christmas. Merry Christmas to all :) Looking forward to season 2 and multicrew and deployable fighters.

As I said before, the whole concept that Horizons is based, to spawn points of disinterests, which are strictly the same (repeated) on all planets, is incorrect and very shallow. It will be released in bared bones(again).

That's why they call it an early access game.

Not a bad suggestion - it addresses nicely the need for a 2D forward facing field of scan, but the compass is a very small piece of UI for this task, making it either difficult to use, or necessitating very easy to find PoIs. I love the Wave Scanner design too, and would love a way to use it in spaceflight instead of the current all-or-nothing PoIs.

Some ideas:
  • AR-based
    • Two linear wave scan displays horizontal in the current position used on the buggy, vertical axis on the main view to the right of the 'fire group' arc.
    • 2D AR elements (heat map-like) rendered with 50% opacity on top of the main view
  • Instrument-based
    • Switchable scanner mode to show a 2D forward facing scan, or the current 3D blips
    • Current 3D scanner with instead of current fuzzy blips and 'blue blobs', varying opacity 'plasma clouds' of unresolved wave signatures and noise that can occupy large volumes of the scanner.

The linear time-based scan is also a great fit to stereo sound, and it would be hard to make something for a 2D field of view that is as elegant (consider having a Horiz/Vert Scan Audio toggle!). I'll leave that to the sound guys.

Lastly, could we vary the SAR missions by having some of them give a bracket of coordinates to search, and some of the (lower payout) crash sites have a locator strobe that is visible from flight? Not to make them all easy, just for some variety. Payout would be then proportional to difficulty of search. The easiest ones would be a kind of 'blue light taxi' service :).

That feeling when you realize this might be gameplay for multicrew.

It probably rolled down a hill. It spawns and starts rolling.
I've had that too, and it actually looked funny to see the cargo come to me and roll away from that Goliath, but nope, this was a place flat and large enough to land multiple condas...

That's why they call it an early access game.
And I thought they called it released by now, oh wait yeah, beta is the new released these days xP

- Planet ports only care about crimes committed within 4km
Nope, they care. I've shot lawless drones 2 times far away from a planet port and that turned them, although only temporary, hostile towards me.
Granted that I got no bounty on me but over +15km did they still give a damn about me blowing up lawless drones, and didn't like it.

The other time I shot them within 4km but that was a different thing, that was shooting while still being inside the no fire zone.

Also this is with the released version of 2.0 before someone asks about that.

To 'almostpilot';...yes, exactly. All those 'inconveniences' just make this games Sim roots all the more enjoyable; -so many of us get huge pleasure just rambling around seeing the sights, whether in Space or on planets; sporadic content is satisfactory for us, (especially the Solo/singleplayer type players).
