Patch Notes Update Horizons 2.0 Beta Change Log

We'll shortly be shipping a fix for those with the Lifetime Expansion Pass not having Horizons beta listed in their products.

We're still investigating the the server error not being able to provide an installer. At the moment we're not confident we'll have a fix for that problem tonight, but we'll keep looking.

Just to make a clarification, I was a beta backer and bought the expansion with beta access and it is not visible in my downloadable products either and using the launcher from the other link I get the error when trying to download, so it isn't just LEP owners.

Um... it's not just lifetime expansion customers with it missing from downloadable products. It's missing for me and I just bought the horizons beta separately, the day you started pre-order for it. I suspect you'll find all of the people getting the "not available" error have horizon missing from their downloadable product list.... it's two symptoms of the same bug?

Yeah, sadly seems it's "too hard" to add us into the bucket on that fix and we'll have to wait tomorrow :/

Same for me. Bought Horizons with beta access a few months back. Not in the downloadables list in the account and giving server rejections in the launcher. The order for it is there, though...

I think its because a lot more do not have access to the beta in the account. Like myself I am having the same issue but the my downloads section there is not Horizons beta download, I believe this is the issue. Well at least its the only thing I can come up with.

FD... please tell me you're reading these, you seem to think it's just lifetime pass holders with the problem, it's loads of other beta backer tiers as well.

I'm standard Beta, plus liefetime expansions, but I got the installer ok. I am stuck at "Can't connect to Frontier Servers" in the main menu - start is greyed out. Training missions work, but nothing else. No, there isn't a "Landings" training mission

I have seen a lot of Backers getting mega upset I understand this I'm not a backer but I will buy all the expantions as thay come out I will have paid a hell of a lot more so backs pait so mutch and get it all I did pre order the horizons and I'm getting the error message but I'm not impressed by backers thinking the should get it first its sad to be fair FD have worked hard and I'm willing to pay the extra to keep the game running not a one off payment thinking that gives me the right to demand it first I'm sorry rant over still no bata but will try again tomozy keep up the good work FD and thank you

please .... do something , there is a lot of people including me with that issue , or at least give us some update ... if you think it cannot be fixed today , it's ok .. all we are asking , is to get at least an update

There is an update posted by Zac as a sticky on the Horizons beta forum with a summary of known account issues so far. The one you mention here is on the list but it looks like it won't be fixed tonight. some of the other issues they are still trying to fix tonight.

Okay. I bought a vehicle hangar and a Scarab. I'm landed on a planet in my home system now but I can't figure out how to launch the srv. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Well I managed to get in tonight using Steam.

I had to run the launcher manually (so navigate to SteamApps/Common/Elite Dangerous/EDLaunch.exe) and then Horizons Beta 2.0 appeared in my list. Running it from within Steam it was conspicuously absent.

Had a few issues - mainly to do with controllers (an old bug that caused X52 pinky button to stop functioning after Supercruise being the most annoying) but I was able to land on a moon ("Irving's Moon" in Asphodel, which is "my" Moon. Attempt no landing there... ) but otherwise relatively smooth for a first night of a beta 1. Haven't tried the SRV yet, because I had to go off to Beagle 2 to get one so I'll try that tomorrow.

Not bad, Frontier. You're getting there.

The servers are overloaded

The servers being overloaded has nothing to do with players who don't have the download in their account page and when trying to install 2.0 get the error message that no download is available, that problem has to be related to certain users (like myself) who can do neither of the two things I just mentioned somehow not being on the beta 2.0 list, I bought the ED beta and Horizons beta and it gives me no link and tells me no download, that is a player issue.

Im an Alpha backer with LEP and most of us cant play either...so? its called a Beta becuz thers bugs, the whining is worse than Horizon bugs..FD's burning the midnite oil for us...

I was a standard beta backer. Then purchased the Horizons beta about two weeks ago. My launcher has all the products listed including Ships 1.5 64 bit and Horizons, however my Frontier Store account does not have the Horizons beta listed in the downloadable products section even though my order is showing as complete. I am still getting the Server not able to provide installer message.

I didnt own the lifetime expension i just bought the horizon beta access, if it can help the dev...

The problem is that during the Alpa and PB backers are a small group big enough for testing on the test servers now there are so many horizon beta buyers the servers cant handle it .
the Kickstarters Alpha and Premium Beta are the ones that suported the game from the begining so its more than reasonable that they get in to the betas first.

I understand that but I dnt think that's true as in the long run supports of the game now will have paid a hell of a lot more to the game so I think they just have as much right to get in on it as well

Same here, seems I've had the new launcher for a while, had to update the 64 and 32 bit versions of ships beta but now have all listed and all load except horizons, click play and nothing. Have restarted launcher and system.

It's not a case of who should get it first, it's about FD ensuring everyone with access gets it as promised, and when this is fixed tomorrow, then it won't be delivered as promised. I accepted the fact that the 24th wouldn't be met, but this is beyond ridiculous.

Yeh well that's not what most people are complaining about if you read most posts, it's the overwhelming evidence that many of us who bought Elite before it even came out, and bought either LEPs or the Horizons beta were simply left off the beta list, the evidence is on our account page and in the error msg we get from the launcher, bugs are one thing, not even having access to those bugs is another.

I think we all know this will be resolved, in the meantime I think posting in a forum explaining why we are a bit displeased is completely reasonable, no one is being rude or inflammatory, so there is no need to stop talking and maybe some of us can get the game working who have other issues, not a big deal.
