yep I understand that I'm a horizons backer got it the first day it was put on sale so I do understand but I dnt see my self anybetter than the guy who got it today and is playing it its petty in a way
Yeh, if you go to your ED install, there are two new folders, Public_Test_Server and Public_Test_Server_X64
Inside the graphics configuration files and other files are the settings for planets and landings, and files for planets, it's actually downloaded many of the files somehow, even though we can't access them in game
Only reason I know this is because I heard planetary landing was demanding so I went to make a optimized configuration file to reduce some draw distances and make other small changes like changing Ultra planet resolution from 2560 to 2048, reduce lights by one, reduce the amount of ground rocks etc. if anyone wants an optimized file send me the graphicsconfiguration.xml from your game so I can make sure the file is complete and upload one for everyone.
Guys, Guys. They are 40 or 50 people and we are 100,000 or more. These things are going to happen. It sucks when it happens to us. I'm one of them. Can't update through the 32 bit launcher and it's not in my downloadable products. But they are totally inundated. If you're like me and can't update and it's not in your downloadable products, submit a ticket. It won't be instant response, might even take a couple of days, but they are working as fast as they can and definitely don't want to issue refunds. Therefore, I think they will do their best to resolve the tickets they get in a timely manner. But it does stink that we have to wait a day or two.
Guess all those stupid "don't pre-order" shout outs were true?
Who would imagine...I think he's complaining about the fact he can't access what he paid for, not exactly a hard thing to understand, yes we know FD are working their ass off, that isn't going to magically make us not disappointed, and everyone expected bugs, we know what a beta is, just most betas I play I can actually download to experience the bugs, and give feedback, not sit here waiting to be added to the allowed list.
I've noticed that although I have ED/32 EDHB2.0 EDSB1.5/32 EDSB1.5/64 and SPCT listed in launcher, I only have four folders in the Product folder, being combat, forc-fdev public_test_server and public_test_server_64.
Which given the download issues earlier I am assuming the launcher thinks I have the game downloaded but it doesn't so am in limbo with no download option but no game files.
Checking the version IDs in the launcher:
V 2015.10.16.84963 0.4.4029.0 (ED/32)
V 2015.11.30.91428 0.4.4029.0 (EDHB2.0)
V 2015.11.30.91428 0.4.4029.0 (EDSB1.5/32)

So it does look like the launcher is high on self belief, maybe I should re-install?

As you have to pay for participating in the beta (one way or the other), making the beta available later than promised increases the price for beta access per day. This is especially true if the final release date of Horizons remains the same.
IMO, it was also quite risky to begin the Horizons beta release late at 7:30pm (19:30), in case of any problem it leaves FD with only 4.5 hrs to come up with a solution for keeping the promised date.
Keep in mind, we're already about a week late from the original date.
And don't forget, the purpose of a beta is to test a product. This of course requires that the product is available for testing!

Why not just move the folders and virtualcache.xml file, if it doesn't work add them back, virtualcache keeps track of installed files so it will think you have an empty installation.

However, The regular launcher that got updated a few days ago suddenly had Horizons Beta 2.0 in the list and although currently very very slow, it -is- downloading.
I don't know if this is what was meant to happen since I understood the old launcher to be 32 bit and was expecting to get a new 64 bit launcher so i hope that once this is eventually done, everything works.

Yes, probably most of the people still posting in this thread, including myself.
I don't get the 1.5 stuff listed at all. I've tried using the Steam launch, both through Steam and not through Steam, as well as downloading and installing the launcher from FD.
WORKAROUND!!!! - For the server not providing installer bug - only works for standard/premium beta or lifetime backers though.
Apologies if this has already been covered. If you are unable to update the Horizon beta due to the bug... just update beta 1.5 (32bit) instead, load it up and voila... you are playing Horizon 2.0 !!!
Someone has screwed up assigning betas to patches I guess.

Doesn't work and i have both betas access, can't install either.
Okay not so funny story ME: Standard beta (I know) then Lifetime pass inc skins I've dropped £200+ into this game but hey I love it,
I can see horizons beta in launcher but have the refused by server bug must of tried 100+ times no dice,
My good lady who owns elite (vanilla) walks in 20 mins before the beta dropped and she asked whats that your talking about I explained and she said Oh, Then I need to buy it too cant have you running off to planets without me...
Guess who's driving on a planet RIGHT now.
Ps moving the files she downloaded across to my install didnt work when you click play nothing happens any ideas??
Please FD save me from the ribbing laughing etc..

Ahh, sorry to hear that. 1.5 installs fine for me, but I have the bug preventing install of horizon. Have you reported? not heard anyone say that 1.5 is down too.
