Horizons Hostage Rescue missions-any advice?

Hi guys.

So I decided to do a hostage rescue mission today, but ran into some major problems. Though I found my target within the time-frame, he was clean in the system I was in (is that a bug, or how it can work sometimes?) I had no interdiction modules, so just had to wait for him to drop out of Super-cruise. I attacked his cargo hatch, which obviously earned me the ire of the local authorities, & even managed to get him to drop the hostage. That is where my troubles really began, though, as I had real issues with my cargo scoop, & got killed in the process of trying to rectify the problem. In the end I sadly had to abandon the mission.

So, my question is this-is there any way I could have completed this mission either without earning a bounty, &-even better-without getting myself killed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as this is a mission type that I am *really* excited about, as it really changes up the formula of the mission system in a big way (personally, I didn't even mind getting the bounty, as long as I could have managed to complete the mission).

IMO this mission type is still bugged. Tried one myself today and the target was also clean. So I left it alone. Some time later I found another target with the same name and this time it was wanted. I opened his cargo hold with hatch breaker limpet and he dropped hostages. I scooped them in (they were legal salvage) but they dont count towards the mission. So even this mission type is still serverly bugged or I didn't unterstand under which circumstances the hostages counts towards the mission goal.
