Running the grind in HIP 10716, getting about 18% a night in Marquis. I became hostile and it would not engage my docking computer, saw the text on the screen. Never saw this before. Why would my own module not work being hostile? Is the base jamming it or something? Just curious about this mechanic.

I have found that if you are under attack, the dock computer, tells you that you are on your own; or will not auto-dock. However: I could still dock the ship myself.

I was not being fired upon, but everything was red on my screen. Let me see if I can grab a screenshot later tonight.
Imagine, if you will, that the Docking Computer makes use of an equivalent to the ILS system used in airports today. The Docking Computer and the ILS Computer have to communicate in order for the ship to fly safely to its' landing pad. If you are considered Hostile to the station this communication is not allowed to happen, so you are on your own.
Makes sense to me, but others in this thread have said it works for them?
Err.. that was a while ago. Thinking about it, never been to a hostile station and not been fired upon.
Plus: Hell Razor, is right about most things.

I had a couple of occasions recently when (definitely due to a bug) my sensor disk showed 2 stations (yes, 2 stations). I was in LHS 3447, the nearby station was Allied (and, I believe, was Worlidge Terminal), and the other (Lawson Orbital) was Hostile (and Red), and a bit further out (over 100,000LS further out). Because of this I could not make use of the Docking Computer, as I was (at least to the Docking Computer) under attack!

So are you saying that you can not land, or just the DC will not land you?
Oh i can land, just the DC wont engage. I also cannot pay off the fine I get for doing these missions, but they still give them to me
just make some donations and take their sentries kill mission(their own sentries count) and you are back at neutral in no time
Both bases are of the same faction.
i know, i done the Hip 10716 myself and i got friendly with the nobles while having a 50k bounty from them [big grin]
I have not seen any charity missions in this system. Is that how you get friendly?
they spawn from time to time from the nobles of hip 10716 and i have taking the cracking down missions from them
