How can I name the stars, and planets?

I can confirm as I won a planet rename in the charity raffle at EliteMeet 2018. There is no in-game UI: you submit a name via email and, assuming it passes their checks for profanity and copyright issues, it is implemented server-side.

Any video purportiing to show editing a planet name in-game is fake.

In keeping with the best ED explorer traditions, I named a planet after my dog. Jasmine's Playground is near the galactic centre.
