I think that's a bit of an unfair indictment of the regular person. In fact there seems to be a majority of regular people on this forum who don't fit that description. So maybe the regular person should be substituted with jerk in hiding. I understand it's not your definition though.

The proper term is the Online Disinhibition Effect, and while the lack of immediate and obvious consequences of online behavior is frequently negative, it has its positive side as well, where people feel safe to discuss problems they’re having through the anonymity of the internet.
