How do YOU regain your ED mojo?

Eh, idk. I don't think I can. Maybe when 2.3 drops i'll check the game out again but until then, meh. I just login and look around thinking of what to do. Exploration? Boring and pointless to me. Bounty hunting? boring and tedious, Plus i've done it so much i'm burnt out on it. Trading/passenger missions? can be quite chill, but time consuming.

My main problem is that I generally only get a couple hours a day to play games if I'm lucky. And everything in ED is too time consuming and tedious for me to bother with it. Hell only reason I came back to the forums was to check and see if there was any news on 2.3.

Only the ones like me in all seriousness that thing is agonizing but hey it's not all that bad. Destiny 2 is on the horizon

at the moment .... from my experience , its a good game ... but im finding the mechanics a grind in general. For example, why the grind with engineers? why the grind hoping... ill get that fed rank upgrade ( if at all ) ..... the bubble? why ? surly just populate it all with well, like whats in the bubble and add strange aliens in the mix . Im thinking its just a money grab , or are we all just a meal ticket - i see no , finished product, more a "we are the beta testers " or a very long term experiment , while in the mean time we all get grey in the process ...

I see endless chit chat with regard to upgrades with ships and this n that... its all very micro , but we are all in the macro ... but the macro - ie what we are part off , isn't being addressed .. presently i see cockpit walk abouts??? ( micro ) err yea ... right ... these things should really have been done on release ..... as each update happens ... its like 6 months.... to me this game will die due to this pattern ... the entire procedure is ...SLOW.... YES SLOW. why the drip drip with the aliens ? Elite in the 80`s just had aliens already , but for some reason we have a cinema thing letting us know there's aliens coming ... why not just let the aliens be live now ? as it stands ... im sorry im not impressed . Ok so ill get the usual trollish ( unless ive put you on the list already - and yes its active ) ... frontiers problem , i think , is they have bitten off more than they can chew .... as for this 4 billion stars arguement ... keep the stars and use that new term - procedural whatever to populate said stars ... cant be so hard now can it ?

I only get a couple of hours a night and I managed to play Minecraft with my son, Lego Worlds (after it released at 9pm) and then I capped the night with some Elite for about 30 mins, went and bought a Diamondback explorer and started outfitting it.Then went to bed. I'll probably do the same thing tonight minus the minecraft.

What do YOU do to get yourself back in the game?

i send myself broke and try to keep things that way

i buy a new ship with the aim of only having about 5 mil in my bank (for my Python's rebuy) and then each required upgrade for the new ship becomes a project in itself. thrusters first? ok that's 60 mil i need (incl. rebuy) so i get to work on earning that. after the thrusters are bought and fitted and i'm almost broke again, then it's time for the next module, rinse and repeat

artificially keeping myself on the poverty line and having to claw my way up to each new upgrade, that's very similar to how things were when i first started the game with nothing - goals are set and work begins to achieve them, and there is a sense of purpose to the game. much better than wallowing in a bathtub of cash and wondering what there is to do now i'm past the end-game

Iv'e been away for a while now, partly due to my XB1 blowing up and partly just due to burnout and RL issues etc. I tend to go through cycles like this but always ultimately come back to ED.

I don't think that you can do anything to force yourself back into the game, if you need a break from the game then you should take it. However I never stop reading the forums or thinking about ED and ultimately that's what drags me back.

So I decide to jump back into the first ship I bought with my own credits, the Viper MK III. It's was already mostly A-rated but never engineered. I fitted it with a 2A fuel scoop, repainted it Vibrant yellow, changed some of the decals and the weapon color to Green and went on an engineer tour. The only thing I have left now is to visit Palin for the Dirty Drive grade 5 tuning (it currently has a level 2 DD tuning and it boosts up to 453 km/s).

I was interdicted several times along the way, each time I got into a glorious small ship dogfighting and won, very intense PVE action and completely different than big ship combat. I went back to my roots as a small ship bounty hunter and rediscovered why I fell in love with this game in the first place. Maybe going back to your roots will help you?

Totally did the same thing when I got bored. Viper III is a lovely ship, I have Viper IV too for that added tankiness...
I've fitted out my Viper III as a total speed demon. I have it running at 829m/s boost. With a bit of further engineering, I know I can get a shield on it with 4 small weapons (pulse or missle launchers are fun) without losing too much speed.

My Viper IV has two reverberating cascade mine launchers and two small multi's for module sniping.
It takes some considerable practise to get launch the mines so they hit your target but its so satisfying when you do (avoiding your own - missed - mines is also quite the challenge).

I think it's generally worth while going back to the smaller ships once in a while just to mix things up... Gotta love the speed.
