How dynamic are Faction Government Descriptions?

I'm sure this is me just not noticing, but ... I was checking outlying Imperial systems for NMLA hints, and in Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 the Merope Expeditionary Fleet status says:

'A recent falling out with their supplier'? And Nasaraudi Dominion don't even exist in this system (indeed they seem limited to Nasaraudi, if eddb can be trusted, and that is a long way away - so it's not a normal trade route).

Is this normal? I'm a bit surprised if fdev hardcode temporal information 'a recent ...' into a description - but even more surprised if an automated system picked such a remote faction (Nararaudi Dominion) to reference.

Also quite fun that their description says:

(Pretty sure that's the Civil Unrest rather than NMLA activity :D )

Ok - went to Nasaraudi - maybe the faction is a copy/paste error because MEF and the Dominion share a description:

It looks as if factions can have generic descriptions or custom ones... wonder if anyone has been collecting them 🤔

That's the cooldown message on Terrorist Attack

I traipsed around looking at them for a bit. Never notated them though.

They're usually there for "special" factions put in by FD, e.g if you go to a Powerplay "Headquarters" system, there's usually a faction which represents "that power" in the system.

Yeah, I though it was 'normal' BGS, just funny as I was looking for terrorists :)

Makes sense. As I said, I thought it was probably me not noticing before rather than a cunning fdev plot - the search continues (y)

Hearing that this was the result of a "terrorist attack" gave me a brief glimmer of hope that the Terrorist Attack state would actually result in a damaged station, but I suppose that would cause too much forum rage for all the miners.

That would feel far more realistic, though. Right now the Terrorist Attack is a "good" state, no? It would be interesting if there was an extra state for "succeeding" in recovery from a terrorist attack, which would bring the sweet sweet trade profits. Instead of a wild goose chase, you'd have find and hunt it.

Nah, it's a "negative" state for the most part, since it causes loss of influence and security, and seemingly has no positive effects to capitalise on. You might be thinking of Pirate Attack, which, while a negative state, brings a lot of positive economic results (for Mining generally).

The lack of "flesh" in the newest states (Pirate Attack, Terrorist Attack, Public Holiday, Natural Disaster, Infrastructure Failure, Drought, Blight) compared to the original states is still a bit of an issue imo.

Oh yeah, Pirate Attack. With the point about mining I ended up mixing those states up, still getting used to them.
