How many Hippo's is enough

I have look in the Zoopedia but stil lcan't find the correct amount of Hippo's to meet the social needs, I started with a male and female and it showed I was short. I added a second female and had to grow the exhibit hugely and add 4 hard shelters but it still shows not enough animals to meet he social needs.

How many of each did everyon

4 seems to be a good number.1 male and 3 females. One of the prebuilt large shelters is enough for them. More than 1 male and the males will fight

I thought it was at least 3, but I guess I was mistaken. I was surprised to learn, though, how social hippos are. Hippo groups can be up to thirty hippos!! That's a lot of hippo! I guess the lesson is, when it comes to hippos, bigger is better.
