Just got my first "canopy compromised" message on my latest exploration trip. Last time this happened I headed straight back, but at the moment I am in a neutron field hoping to scan my way to elite. I have heard somewhere that the first warning is not too much to worry about and that there is about 4 warnings before canopy is breached totally. I just have a couple of cracks and still 81% hull and enough ammo for my AFMU to repair all module damage. Currently 12-13 kylies out from civilisation but carrying lots of data must be over 3000 systems.
Questions are -
How "low" a hull is "safe to go" before I head back?
And - How many "canopy compromised" messages do you get before you head back?
I think with some careful piloting I can get down to about 60% hull before heading back or I can take 1 more "canopy compromised" message - but would that be considered too risky?
At the moment I am in a bit of a quandry, not sure to head back with this data and then head back out farming - or should I "gamble" and stay out get a few more high value neutron systems as it took so long to get to this field?
Thanks in advance for any help from more experienced explorers.
