How often do you come across real players?

Triangle means they're not on the same plane as you. Rectangle means they are. So key an eye out for hollow triangles or rectangles for real people.

I thought triangle just meant hardpoints out and rectangle for hardpoints retracted.
Ah ninjas!

What does hollow triangle in SC mean?

To answer OP, Jenny sees people in open quite often (even in remote places), and Duck sees people in Mobius at the busy places like CG and Engineers.

I thought it meant they're above or below you. Guess I'm dumb. :x

No. The way to tell if something is above or below you is by the line that protrudes from the target on your radar. Can't remember which way it is without looking. I think if the line comes down from the icon the target is above you. If it goes up from the icon it's ... hmmm, not sure I got that right. But the line indicates whether the target is above or below you.

My ADS is wired to my second trigger, thus is a sense my hard point always show depoloyed in super, but not in normal. Tis ironic, even though I've no weapons of any kind. If I've accidently deployed what would be weapons, the stations gives me a warning.

Some people have weaps to deploy on fire button. So hitting any scanner makes a triangle

Be careful scanning in a station can warrant a lethal response. I somehow used the data link scanner at Millerport and the station gave me like a minute to leave before they vaporize me. lol

O wow, really? I've been trying to find a use for that weird new scanner that comes with all ships. I've no idea what it is or does.

in SC it means a FSD Interdictor, which is the thing to be careful of, or system scanners and they have the option to deploy weapons on firing.
If you disable this, so have to manually deploy/retract weapons, you dont show as a triangle from scanners.

As for topic, ditto others: CGs, starter systems, engineers, areas of interest. Also as a Fuel Rat I see players every fuelling case ;) and the occasional hollow just jumping between cases.

I rarely have time to converse when jumping, so sometimes it's only later I'll see that someone has hailed me (sorry), but always try to message back at stations etc.

I tend to play late at night, coupled with being in Australia, that usually means I don't see many folks outside of CG systems. Never even seen anyone at any of the engineers.

When I first started I could go online at all sorts of time, but now I can only go on late a night and I am In New Zealand (first of the sun), so most of you guys are either at work, college etc. or tucked up in your snug beds when I'm flying around. So I used to regularly get lots of hits, but now I maybe come across one player every couple of nights, and I usually don't even seem them, I just notice them on my comms panel at some point.

Doesn't bother me, I don't see this game as a player interactive game at all - its definitely a PVE game at heart.

This game does instance you with people in your region. I have yet to see British people or you guys from down in that corner of the planet. So you being on an island hurts your chances of seeing a lot of people.

So far I've only played in the Mobius PvE PS4 private group, but I've added every person in that group who has put their name up in the forum so that I can see everyone's location. 90% of the time people are playing in the general area of the latest CG.

So far I've only spotted one New Zealander out of the regular cmdrs (with easy to remember names) that Ive seen about.
