hi guys im trying to add a friend from my xbox one friends list to my in game friends list since the game doesn't automatically do it but i cant work out how without being in the same instance, has any body elese know how to do it?

As far as I'm aware, this hasn't been fully integrated yet and the devs are aware of this. It may be in the next patch, so for now, you'll have to get lucky and hope you get into the same instance as your friends. Was searching for my buddy in Everate yesterday and I couldn't find him.
You could try and meet him/her in another system that sees very little activity and see if you get put in the same instance.
