Here's an example on how you can make a polar bear habitat that is big enough, but doesn't take up all your space (big work in progress, don't have any Polar bears yet, so unsure how it will work)
The area on the top left is going to be my Arctic area, but I didn't want to have to use all of it for just the Polar bears. BUT, my zoo have loads of mountains (don't recommend it, it causes loads of lag).
So I figured, why not use the mountains to create extra space! As you can see, there is more than enough space for them to be happy (and more room to make more water areas if needed)
It's easier to see the space at night, with loads and loads of lights. (the water area expands under the upper level quite a bit, you just have to make sure it doesn't expand the hatitat barriers at the top)
And the staff area is hidden on the other side of the mountain
