Sorry if this has been asked before, I just can't find a solid answer on this.
When I bought Elite through Steam a while ago, there was an authentication issue which only allowed me to start a demo through the launcher.
Am I mistaken to assume that there actually is a demo version one can play without an account via the ED launcher? If it is possible, how can it be done?
PS: All I found so far regarding any kind of demo is a github page with some old files. I don't think that's an official release and probably not up to date either?
