How To Submit A Hardware Survey

I built a new PC in March. Today I got one of those black screens when exiting my ship at a Odyssey settlement and had to use task manager to kill the ED client to get out of the game.

This resulted in Frontier wanting me to submit a crash report. Since I have not submitted a hardware survey for the new PC I want to do it before I submit the crash report, but can not figure out how to do it and goggling instructions is no help. It says under the options menu there is a button, but I don't see one.

The crash report may give them what they need or you can include that info manually in the text box in the crash report dialog box, which sounds like its already displayed on your screen (?).

I usually include what I was doing at the time of the crash and anything else I think might be pertinent. AFAIK, I've never submitted a hardware survey to FDev.

On the Launcher, where it says "Connected As", click the down arrow for the following dialog:

Click Settings.

Click Hardware Survey.

a hardware survey is genrally used for marketing and future development stratergies
support tickets only really require a dxdiagnostic so send one with a support ticket via typing dxdiag into windows start and run it to gen a report


hint try turning off fps limiter(GFX options) in game see if that cures your black screen

It has not been an issue until today and it only happens at certain Odyssey settlements in one (Cail) system.

ya it's happend at some settlements for me when leaving srv and the limiter was the cure quirks of the game and nowt to get concerned about in the grand scheme of things imo its as old as odyssey and has been mentioned in previous threads over the years🤷‍♂️
