Newcomer / Intro How to use kill warrant scanner and Frame Shift Drive Interdictor

Just a couple of quick questions.
Can the kill warrant scanner be used in Supercruise or only when I have dropped out of suepercruise?
Is it triggered by a dedicated key or selected in a fire group and used like another scanner?
Same goes for the Frame Shift Drive interdictor. is it initiated by selection in a fire group or does it have a dedicated key?
Thanks

- KWS only works in normal space
- You need to have it in a firegroup and hold the trigger while facing the ship you're scanning
-Yes, you also need to have it in a firegroup and trigger it with, well, a trigger.

Can't help with the interdictor, never used one.

Just to add to what Chris said about the KWS - it may help to have a group with just the KWS in it, to avoid accidentally firing on a target that hasn't been scanned yet.

Also, you need to keep the target within the KWS minimum range (varies by model) and also within LoS - generally as close to the centre of your cockpit forward view as possible, until the scan completes.

That is certainly the safer option. But to be honest, I do it differently - Most of my combat ships (all of them except the Vulture) have mixed energy/kinetic loadout so I have one firegroup with energy weapons and KWS. That way I can scan the target while already working on its shields. (naturally one needs to let the primary auto-scan commence to know that the target is locally wanted)

Yeah, and these days I do the same - still, just the other day I got my sidey (I still like to take it out for a 'no strings' spin now and then) popped by zealous Federal Agents by joining in on their target whilst the KWS was doing its thing and *before* the auto scan had revealed to me the target was otherwise clean! Serves me right for letting my eagerness to get in on another bounty get the better of me

No big loss for me or you, but a newer player might appreciate not finding that out the hard way ;)

Put the KWS on the secondary triger, bind it to the "-" key or whatever is top right of your keyboard. Use a weight to hold it on when you have multiple ships to scan, like in the RES or wherever you're bounty hunting. That makes it automatic.

Interdictor only works in supercruise. It needs to be bound to a button in your firegroups but no need to deploy hardpoints prior to using. Simply line up behind your target in supercruise with the right firegroup selected, make sure the target is within range (the firegroup indicator on the HUD for the interdictor will light up) and flying away from you, then fire the interdictor button (no need to keep it held down) and play the interdiction mini-game to pull that sucker out of supercruise.

I have three fire groups:
1. ADS/KWS For when I'm not ready to shoot yet (he's bigger than me and the authority is not near)
2. 2 pulse/KWS to tag something the authority is already shooting at so I can get in on the action while scanning
3. Max weapon load to go to town with.
