No offence to anyone who posted their own ideas I love reading them all but the main point of this thread was for you guys to share your thoughts on my ideas, make slight changes to what I chose, not make completely new ideas instead. I swear I don’t mean to be mean or anything, just saying.
Feel that, i had only one thankfully

It sometimes feels like people got a bunch of packs ready to copy paste into every thread remotly similar to it

These are really strong packs overall, and the only thing thing that gives me pause is including both the gelada and Hamadryas baboon at this point. I know they're both fairly popular for different reasons, but I'd personally find it a bit difficult to justify including both assuming limited remaining packs. The Hamadryas is by far my preference, but with this setup I think I'd actually keep the gelada to open up a spot for the patagonian mara in the shrublands pack.

A few less drastic preferences I have: greater kudu over eland, greater rhea over secretary bird, Matschie's over Goodfellow's, two-toed sloth as the Latin American exhibit species.

The banded mongoose is a really exciting anniversary idea that I hadn't considered before. I'd love to see it. Overall though I'd really love to see our remaining DLC play out very similarly to this as this lineup makes really great use of its space.

The mountains and Latin American rosters are extremely plausible, though I'm not convinced that that's how they'll specifically approach Latin America. Scrublands feels like a bit of a stretch

Update 1.16 & Highlands Animal Pack arriving on December 12th:

As highlands/mountains is the only big biome we have left to cover, I really think the winter pack will be a Highlands Animal Pack. There’s no scenery that we would really need to pair with this, you could have a NA set but that could pair with a future pack (foreshadowing).

Explore the wonders of winter with 8 new cold dwelling animals!

GeladaView attachment 368979
One of the most colourful symbolic animals of the primate world, the Gelada arrives from the Ethiopian Highlands. While closely related, Geladas aren’t actually true baboons, they do share a variety of similarities though.

Spectacled Bear
View attachment 368980
These bears are known for their yellow ring markings on their faces, as they are its key feature that separates its appearance from other species of bear.

Wolverine

View attachment 368981
Mustelids are a very wide group of animals with unique features, and this furry winter friend is no different! Wolverines are adapted to live in colder climates, they don’t hibernate and are very skilled predators for hunting in the snow.

Markhor
View attachment 368982
A very known icon of the mountains, while some might not know this animal by name, the twisted horns of the majestic Markhor are very symbolic and unlike any ungulate.

These first 4 I’m pretty dead set we’re getting. The next 3 I’m not as confident in but I think they have a strong possibility.

Takin (Sichuan)

View attachment 368983
Takin are magnificent creatures, with thick lush fur and beautiful horns. The animal also has a variety of colour variations that will be available in the game! These variants range from a pale yellow all the way to a darker brown top coat!

Pallas Cat

View attachment 368984
These small wild cats may look like your average house cat, but they are adapted to live in the cold climate of certain ranges of Asia.

Rock Hyrax

View attachment 368985
Hope you’re ready for another curious and cute friend! Hyraxes despite their size and appearance, are actually related to Manatees and Elephants!

Titicaca Water Frog (E)
View attachment 368986
This amphibian is especially unique for your exhibits because this is the largest fully aquatic frog in the world! This frog will rarely surface above the water, in fact it can spend its whole life submerged!

I originally had a pheasant in place of the hyrax but I think another small prairie dog like creature is more probable. I’ll post my ideas for the update 1.16 later today.

Let me know what you think of my ideas!
I think overall a great list, really solid choices! The pallas cat, though not really my animal, I could see it coming. The rock hyrax, meh, I would replace it with a Darwin Rhea, but that's personal opinion. Also, switch the exhibit toad with either a Chinese or Japanese giant salamander, but again, personal :)

Update 1.17 & Latin America Pack arriving April 2nd!

Winter is wrapping up and it’s getting a bit hot around here 🫠! We’re heading into one of the most tropical places in the world, Latin America! Travel through the vibrant villages of Brazil as well as meeting some lovely faces!

5 new animals
Meet 5 tropical friends all from the kingdom that is Latin America!

Black Howler Monkey

View attachment 369212
A unique species amongst the tropical forest, Black Howler Monkeys are one of the very few primates that have altering skin colours, depending on their genders.

Ocelot
View attachment 369213
While often referred to as a mini Jaguar, the Ocelots main difference from the Jaguar is its size and weight, as well as the difference in patterns.

Collared Peccary

View attachment 369214
Despite how close they look, peccaries aren’t actually real swines. The animals name comes from the white “collar” around its neck!

White Nosed Coati
View attachment 369215
The master of the trees, coatis use every part of the forest to their best abilities. They sleep the nights away in the trees, and spend the day grooming and foraging for food.

Eyelash Viper (E)
View attachment 369219
A very dangerous species, the Eyelash Viper is a species to approach with caution, however they aren’t that aggressive, they rather use their abilities to catch their prey.

180+ New Pieces
Along with these new animals you will also be glad to hear that a variety of architecture pieces from the colourful enchanted Brazil will be included! This new set includes new tropical palms, new flags and fabric pieces, and new flexi colour shingle roof pieces!

Let me know what you think of my idea.
Overall great picks, very varied. I find this one of the hardest packs to make, since there are so many SA animals to choose from. I mean, you could replace all the choices with solid species, like the Southern Tamandua and the replace the viper with a sloth? Though the viper is a really great choice. Also it's either the howler monkey or spider monkey, they both have they're own traits that make them cool.
So still! good pack! I would definitely buy it :D

And at last the Scrubland and Arboreal pack. Scrubland animal pack I would definitely get, I mean; Echidna? Secretary bird? YES!
The arboreal pack well...I would change the American Black Bear with a Southern Tamandua. Why? Cause I think the pack should focus on animals really living a lot in the tree tops. The Black bear, though a very good climber, doesn't spend entire days in trees. perhaps I could be wrong, but I would add the Tamandua, as that animal really spends quite a lot of time in the trees and is more unique. I would save the American black bear for anniversary or a woodland animal pack, it does grow on me more.

Fantastic set, which I think you posted elsewhere a bit ago that I liked at that point. It is possible this could be the Spring pack - if only because it's probably going to be a scenery pack, and they've revisited all continents but North America and South America, the second of which should be an animal pack. Last of the really iconic North American animals with a couple that further bolster Europe's roster.

Bad: NA Pack 4

Good:
I actually really like how you presented it, nice flavor to have it written like those bloopers for the announcement or steam store page, very pleasent to read!

Also while focusing on NA for a pretty basic scenery pack would be pretty boring especally with such a rather basic line up of NA Red Deer, bear, another frog, the most mid on its own lagomorph and the actually pretty cool musk ox, i really would love the scenery set.

Imo while animal wise NA for me but im quite sure most non NA players is quite abundant, scenery wise im really missing both an indigenous inspired and a wild west/gold rush theme, as both styles are very often used in themed areas and sound like they would bring lots of usefull pieces in general, so im quite down for a boreal and desert scenery pack covering those pieces.

For how i would have also brought the animals up to snuff, imo splitting the pack between north america and siberia would have been the call, giving north america the filler slots of bear and deer and siberia the yellow throated marten and mandarin duck to widen the actual use case of the pack by along shot and making it with the duck usefull for everyone, not just NA players. Also gets rid of the 2 actual interesting animals in your suggestion, but thats just how it is sometimes.
Alternativly just swapping out any of the 4 habitat animals for the wood duck would also do fine on that

This is a full NA pack, snow show hare is NA, Musk ox in europes are introduced, might be as part of a reintroduction Programm but they havent been living here since the last ice age.

The Wapiti being switched for a duck was something I considered and almost did, but idk I just think the elk is more likely.

On the point about it being fully NA I purposely made it like that because the last 3 packs have focused on one continent at a time, the 2 most recent being named synonyms of their first pack based on that region (Oceania following Australia, Eurasia following Europe and SEA) North America doesn’t really have anything that catchy, it could be Canadá Pack but that feels too specific, then there’s the idea of doing an Americas Animal Pack which I’m not a fan of because SA is deserving of its own pack (foreshadowing my next pack prediction).

Good point on the Muskox, and I was thinking the Elk was in Europe but I was wrong - was so confident I didn't even double check. It's interesting then that it's in North America and Asia but not Europe.

Elk taxonomy is weird.
Till 20 years ago, elk or wapiti was just a funky way to say non european red deer, as it was assumed it was one big species with many subspecies, but genetic evidence shows that red deer and wapiti are more distant then assumed, with the also similar looking sika deer being for example seemingly being more closely related to the wapiti then it is to the red deer.

Thats also why im not their biggesr fan, covering asias and north americas needs for a basic deer with just one sounds just great till you realise just how messy they are and how close to the red deer they really look.
Id personally much prefer each area getting a dedicated deer thats a bit more distinct, with my two favored choices being the white tailed deer as its found across all of the americas and being taxonomically different, and the peres david for being semi aquatic and looking pretty weird.

I still get why people want them though and its honestly kinda surprising that they wernt in the base game as they would have fit perfectly with those NA animals
