How would you rank the continents?

I'm sorry but this thread annoys me so much.

Ranking by the continents causes so many people here to say "asia is well enough" and treating all the 4 underrepresented asian regions as less important because south east asia is well represented, while overvaluing the representation of europe, which is just an extension of 3 eurasian ecoregions when it comes to fauna.

SEA having good representation is meaningless when it comes to central asia, the middle east, india and the himalayas which range from nonexistant to averagely represented in the game.

It creates a skewed picture of what is needed for the game which is later echoed over various forums.

Rant over.
Sorry that this annoys you so much. I do understand why though. I just like this cause it shows more what people specifically want for them if they got everything they wanted.

Cause some people may just not care about Asian animals cause they never really see them in zoos around them. I just like hearing different people points of view.

From worst to best representation:

6: South America. Unfortunately South America is at the bottom of the ranking this time. We still need a Coati species, the Spectacled Bear, the Hoffmann's Two-Toed Sloth, and the fact that we only have one South American primate right now is absurd.

5: Africa.
Africa currently has excellent representation, but it's such a biodiverse continent that there's still plenty of good inclusions. The Secretary Bird, Gerenuk, African Crested Porcupine, Klipspringer, Fossa, Dromedary Camel, Red River Hog, and Mantled Guereza spring to mind for me.

4: Oceania.
Oceania is in a fairly good state right now, and us getting four new animals from the continent last year alone helped massively. In my opinion, we just need the Tasmanian Devil, Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, and North Island Brown Kiwi, and then the roster will be more or less perfect.

3: North America.
The only animals endemic to North America that I particularly want are the North American Elk and Mountain Goat, while the others, the Musk Ox, Walrus, and Wolverine, are also found in Europe and/or Asia.

2: Asia.
Aside from the animals mentioned above, the only Asian animal I want that I feel we're missing is the Tanuki. Every other animal from the continent that we don't have I could really do without.

1: Europe.
I genuinely can't think of any endemic European animals I want at this point. Again, the only ones I want at all are also found in Asia and/or North America.

South America: I think we all agree that this is the continent who is lacking the most. But to be honest, I'm not missing so many species. 3-4 primates and 2-3 (ground) birds also would do miracles, an ungulate and 2-3 carnivores, 1-2 rodent, the sloth and we would be perfect.
Africa: similar to Soth America, we're missing 2-3 primates, 2-3 birds and the porcupine, a fossa and another lemur would be nice for Madagascar.
Oceania: 2-3 more marsupials, 2-3 birds, a monitor and possibly a echidna would make it perfect for me.
Asia: the main issue are the Himalayas, where we can really use 1-2 caprines. SEA hasn't even one species of bird, where I strongly advocate for at least one tropical pheasant species, one species for the colder regions is also necessary, and there must be a duck. Another macaque would also be good (and we could also add the porcupine to this region)
North America: basically just the musk ox as essential, 1-2 birds, the Wolverine, a sea otter and a tree porcupine would all be nice.
Europe: for me just the European rabbit is essential, as it introduces a completely new rig and represents a region who would need more representation. Wild boar, Alpine marmot and Wolverine would all be nice.

I'm making a list of people that forget the middle east for the reckoning.

"I'm not missing so many species"

Proceeds to list 9-13 essential animals.
I tought it was less, but the list just gre more and more when I tought about it Haha
But to be honest, if we get the primates and some birds I would be fine. It still wouldn't be as good as some other regions, but a big improvement.

I hope that it won't get too bad for me then.
But honestly, I tought about the middle east, but to be honest, I couldn't think of any species I consider essential. The caracal and the striped hyena gave it a good boost. A porcupine and a baboon, I consider essential, but I don't really care if they are gonna be the species that occur in the Mashriq (I actually counted both of them to Africa). And I get that a dromedary is considered essential by some, but I don't know, I can live without them.
Arabian oryx, Nubian ibex, the Arabian gazelle species, they all have at least one representative of the same genus already in game, and are therefore low on my list. (And just remembered now about the rock hyrax, this would indeed be an interesting species)

I mostly conside the wild boar, dromedary, hamadrayas baboon and porcupine essential. Others would be nice but as you said have closely related species already in the game.
