HUD Info on jumping into another system

Hi!
I don´t know if my idea has been discussed before (sorry if yes and probably it has...). I did like it when a few updates ago the game started inserting this tiny system info in the HUD when jumping into another system (name, distance, state and economy as far as i remember). What about expanding this info (a little bit): best prices and where to get them (in this system) for commodities you carry. Maybe an offer for your passengers if its an anarchy system. Commodities that are desperately looked for,...
Would be immersive, informative an (imho) not too difficult to implement.
Best regards

PS: Sorry for my english. Historic dialects are not a major subject in LHS 3447 schools ;-)

First - additional info would clutter the HUD making it hard to read, obscure the screen and implement unnecessary mess.
2nd - info about best prices for stuff you carry would be beneficial for traders only. PvPer, bounty hunters, pirates and miners to some extent could complain they get data feed they don't need. In comparison - would you be happy to get latest bounty report in your HUD while you trade?
3rd - what you ask is a map feature for upcoming Beyond first batch of an update - Q1. GalMap will display additional filters, among those with trade data, commodities and prices. So basically your idea is already rolling in, tho in a bit different place you wished.

Oh, and Hi CMDR.

o7 and fly safe.

Some people will just complain because it's not about combat ( anything not relating to Bounty hunting or PvP is generally ignored / derided / soon forgotten about )

Personally the info panel in the bottom left could contain useful info as you jump, certainly a brief summary:
"Unexplored: No human stations or Nav Beacon"
"Heavy pirate activity reported, beware!"
"Famine state is driving good prices for food trade"
"Refinery stations reporting low reserves of Palladium"
"See notice boards for a CG in this system"

This kind of information is more like "decision support" for deciding where you're going to, not "we're going in hot" warning at the point you actually jump. There is a ton of available information (and filters) already in the Galaxy map, and even more coming. This is the best place for this kind of thing.

Maybe with the new C&P system, it might actually be important to know if the next system is an Anarchy, but right now, I dont even bother reading that text, most of the time. If I was ever worried about travelling through Anarchies (or whatever systems I feel the need to avoid), then we can already filter them out on the route planner.

(So its about having tools to plan, not about complaining because its not about combat).

I disagree - the reason is it's not about planning, sure, if I'm wanting to go do something specific then I can plan and use the filters etc in the GalMap.
This idea to me is more about making the galaxy seem alive. So has I jump through a bunch of systems to get to where I'm going I can know a little about the state of each one as I pass through, maybe I can notice a system is crying out for a specific commodity and when I get to my final destination I notice they sell that commodity at the good price.

At the moment people do what you just said, hit jump and ignore all the little info in the top right because they feel it doesn't mean anything to them.
This enhancement seems like a good idea, if YOU don't care and are just heading somewhere specific then you can just ignore it ( like galnet and station messages and other things in the game that tell people what's going on in the wide scope of things ).

Some people do complain that they don't know about events happening in the game and only find out from the next video by Obsidian Ant! - well this could be another little QoL change that lets people know what's happening in each system they just blindly jump through.

Opportunity Cost. Everything added means a choice not to add something else. If we are discussing things we could add, saying "if you don't like, just ignore" is not really good enough, and its not a counter argument to my points.

BTW, did you know that 3.0 will be bring text-to-speech for GalNet? - you can listen as you fly. if this also picks up the local galnet news items, I think you would get a lot of the information you are looking for. I certainly think better use of Galnet is on the cards, once this feature is there.

I don't care about combat, but the majority of updates in the past have been centered on combat, and I ignored them all :)
Multi-pew / powerplay / all the weapon mods, all the C-n-P changes coming don't affect either( I play in Modius or fleetcomm ).

I know galnet audio is coming, and maybe local news will be an option on that.

I think there is only so much that can be absorbed in the few seconds that the prejump info panel is showing. Adding all the options in the OP would be information overload imo.

I like the idea.
I already get some information about the target system from EDDI and would like to see a fancy HUD with these kind of info as well.

This wouldn't be in the temporary area that vanishes while you jump - it would be in the lower left panel and stay until the jump is complete - so you actually have something to read while you jump ( and everything else is disabled ) - a simple one sentence summary would be all that's required I think.

Bare in mind this panel during a jump current just says:

Thanks for your replies!
@Shiro Akai: The info is quite small and only clutters the screen during the longest 5 seconds of gaming ("FSD Charging: 5-4-3-2-1"...)
@Willowfan: the info could stay onscreen during the jump/loading screen (the longest loading scr...)
@Shiro Akai: Why not infos for bounty hunters? E.g.: "The famous Pirate Lord Bertram Biffel is known to hide here, the Indipendents of HIP 12345 are looking for him", connected with a mission generated afterwards if you decide to land on (at?) a station. Or "War rages throughout the system, Faction x and Faction y are looking for hirelings.",....
@Shiro Akai: Hi CMDR and thanks for the greetings!
@danteuk: I like your idea too! In the end it would be irrellevant where the stuff ist shown. As you state, during the jump the panels are not really exciting. Btw, why cant we check some info/stats during the jump on the right hand panel?

(For me) the whole thing would be more about immersion but maybe with some interesting facts. Flying from engineer to engineer can become quite boring with the only thing you can do is watching the FSDs cool down circle circling away. I could imagine, a bit to read could help. "Oh, there is a system with metallic pristine ring systems. I can come back here later on." feels better than "7 jumps to Deciat". (I know, I don´t come back, but thats not the point here...).

:)
Thanks for your replies and ideas! o7
