Hud Layout Customization as a route to platform parity.

So on PC it is possible to tweak hud colors in a sort of kludge way. Consoles can not change their hud colors, and it seems to be a sore spot. Doing an overhaul of the Gui that allows more/any customization to the hud layout may be a route to adding a 'cosmetics' hud color option across all platforms. (assuming the kludge method, or equivalent is left in the pc version you could probably get away with adding this paid version of hud color customization.) The paid version would need more flexibility in how colors are displayed (radar could stay the defaults, but the panels etc could be changed possibly on a panel by panel or element by element basis)

One example of an possible aspect of the overhaul would be customizing/filtering what information is called out in the left system poi panel. Currently we can filter system bodies, stations etc, and a default set of information is presented (exploration, salvage, combat, mining, trading) via icons. This is great for begining players, but more experienced players might like the option to display other things in this area. Since the area available to show new info is limited a filter/priority list would be needed.

Things like economy, allegiance/station owner, economy, body type, the presence of an engineering mat on a landable planet, planet class, or station facilities etc could be called out. Currently this info is in the system map only, and can be a pain to access. It is especially a pain in a system with tons of stations, or planet side starports etc. This could also be a QoL for explorers and mat gatherers. (being able to see a planet has poloniuim (or multiple flagged mats set via the filter/priority thing) etc quickly after fishing a fss scan at a glance and being able to target that body.

When exploring this info is shown when the body is scanned, but most players are going for speed when scanning a system and will move on to the next body without fully absorbing the info. Typically i have to individually mouse over the bodies in the system map is needed. This is a pain in systems with many landables.

It works for traders too. (help them see what station is the refinery economy in a system with 20 stations with mixed economies)
It can also be good for BGS players who care about factions/allegiances/controlling faction/state etc by letting them see this info at a glance.
It can work for combat pilots by letting them see what stations have rearm, and repair facilities quickly from the main gui when hostile ships may be moving to attack them etc.

Adding options for reticle or reticle color would be nice if they were included as std options as part of the overhaul.

Allowing us to move around some elements or hide those we do not want (possibly with a bind to show/toggle/cycle the default arrangement with the custom layouts) Along the same way Video editing, photo editing, or Cad menus can be customized to bring to the forefront those thing most important to the user (and hiding clutter).
